Lin Yu felt the server’s grip tighten around his throat, his whole body growing limp and powerless.
Damn it, this is the end, he thought, cursing his own carelessness. But reality never offers a chance for regret.
In that life-or-death moment, a thunderous shout sounded beside him, and a massive wooden comb swept through the air.
The tremendous force of the comb sent the server flying, breaking the deadly hold on Lin Yu’s neck.
Qin Qisan’s seemingly ordinary comb now rivaled a giant guillotine in power and presence.
Without pause, Qin Qisan shrank the comb back to its original size, then delivered a swift kick to the fallen server, straddled him, and landed two more punches.
Though Qin Qisan looked thin and frail, he packed a wiry strength, and soon had the server seeing stars.
Once sure the threat was neutralized, Qin Qisan returned to Lin Yu’s side, hauling him up and taunting,
“President Lin, you even used a pest exterminator on normal people, and still got taken down so easily! Looks like you’ll have to dock your own bonus this month!”
“I was careless. Have you dealt with the others?” Lin Yu asked, brushing a spider from his clothes as he stood.
“Of course! Those guys are no match for me,” Qin Qisan said with a smug glance toward the stairwell.
Following his gaze, Lin Yu saw the burly Xiao Li slumped in the corner, face battered and bruised, froth bubbling from his lips.
Just as the two allowed themselves a breath of relief, Wu Miaoran came running up in a panic.
Behind her, Master Lu charged after, his face twisted with malice, right hand raised, claws gleaming.
“Run! Hurry, run!” Wu Miaoran cried out.
“What’s there to be afraid of? The parasite’s inside him, right? I’ll deal with him,” Qin Qisan declared, preparing to confront Master Lu.
But just then, Master Lu suddenly changed direction, not chasing after them, but bolting toward the kitchen door, with two servers hot on his heels.
“Damn! Don’t let him get away!” Qin Qisan shouted, dashing after them.
Lin Yu and Wu Miaoran hesitated only a moment before following quickly.
As soon as they entered, they heard the sound of a key turning in the lock from outside.
To their surprise, the server Qin Qisan had knocked out was already awake, and now he had locked the exit behind them.

“Not good, someone’s locked us in!” Wu Miaoran exclaimed.
“It’s fine, as long as they don’t call the police, it’s no trouble,” Qin Qisan replied, unconcerned.
“Don’t worry. The parasite won’t let anyone outside live, so there’s no way he’ll call the police,” Lin Yu assured them.
Sure enough, the server who had locked the door suddenly collapsed in agony, strange lumps rising under his skin, sprouting tufts of yellow fur.
His flesh began to tear, the yellow fur darkening to black.
From the gaping wounds in his body, black-haired hellhounds began to crawl out, as if they’d been growing within him all along.
As they broke free, bones and flesh tore apart in a grotesque, excruciating spectacle.
The poor server barely managed a few screams before passing out, drowned out by a chorus of terrifying howls.
“What’s that noise outside? Why are there so many dogs?” Wu Miaoran gasped.
“Old Third, you killed all the dogs earlier, right?” Lin Yu frowned.
“Of course! I didn’t spare a single one. And don’t go feeling sorry for them—those things aren’t dogs anymore, not loyal friends to mankind, but wild beasts,” Qin Qisan explained.
“If you already killed them, then what’s making those noises outside? It sounds even scarier than dogs,” Lin Yu murmured.
By now, Wu Miaoran and Qin Qisan had switched on their phone flashlights, shining their beams ahead.
In the circle of light, Master Lu stood grimly beside the central dining table, two servers flanking him like zombies, heads hanging low.
Master Lu dragged his long nails across their faces and chests, muttering hoarsely,
“Heh heh heh, you meddling livestreamers—at a time like this, you’d better worry about yourselves. Today, none of you will leave here alive!”
As he spoke, his nails dug deeper into the servers’ flesh, but they showed no sign of pain, standing rigid and motionless, utterly at his mercy.
Where his nails passed, long bloody gashes appeared, and from those wounds oozed a visible black poison.
“He’s going to summon the dogs again—and this time, he’s using human sacrifices?” Qin Qisan exclaimed in horror.
“What is that thing? Is he really just possessed by a parasite?” Wu Miaoran’s voice trembled.
“Xiaoyu just sent me the data. According to the records, this isn’t just a host parasite—it’s something worse: a controller,” Lin Yu said.

The Bluetooth earpiece in Lin Yu’s right ear glimmered as he listened to Xiaoyu’s voice message.
“A controller? I’ve never encountered that type before,” Qin Qisan said, eyes wide.
“That’s right. This parasite is called ‘Metamorphosis’,” Lin Yu replied, pressing his earpiece and continuing his explanation.
Just then, the two servers whose flesh had been slashed abruptly straightened, the wounds on their faces and bellies stretching and splitting open like loaves of bread tearing in a hot oven.
The cramped room filled with the crackle and snap of rending flesh. More horrifying still, within those bloody splits, numerous blood-red eyes began to roll and swivel.
“God, that’s disgusting! It’s like something out of a horror manga! How do we fight this thing?” Qin Qisan blurted in panic.
“Oh no! The spiders are coming too!”
Wu Miaoran shrieked. The three of them turned to see swarms of black spiders converging from all sides.
Lin Yu kept listening intently to the voice in his ear, clutching a mystic talisman in his hand as he spoke urgently,
“Never mind the details for now—this is a trap. We have to get out of here immediately!”
With that, Lin Yu threw himself against the iron door behind him, but it didn’t budge. Qin Qisan enlarged his signature comb, ready to smash at the door.
But at that moment, Master Lu pulled out a remote and pressed a button.
A metallic clatter sounded above—the back exit’s rolling shutter dropped into place.
Seeing their escape route blocked, Lin Yu shouted,
“Up! Head for the roof!”
As he spoke, the two servers began to swell like balloons, their features warping hideously, eyeballs squeezed from their sockets, bloody gaps tearing wider and wider, and from each bloody maw, a black-furred dog’s head emerged.
“Heh heh, come out, my little pets—kill them for me!”
At Master Lu’s command, the two servers’ bodies exploded, showering flesh and bone, and eight blood-soaked hellhounds burst forth from the gore.
