“Baru, spit out the magic ring!” The weapon warrior Storm raised his weapon and struck at Baru, who had taken the form of a skeletal sand scorpion.

“Only I can make others spit out their magic rings—who dares to make me do the same?” Baru, in his skeletal sand scorpion form, moved incredibly fast, far surpassing his previous time with the hourglass. His low stature extended the time Storm’s attack took to land, while the sand scorpion could swiftly evade.

If Stan were here, he would have definitely analyzed how Baru managed to boost the skeletal sand scorpion’s speed so drastically. It must be related to his magic ring and equipment, perhaps some kind of enhancement potion or status effect. The skeletal sand scorpion form was perfectly suited for Baru; few could wield it as smoothly as he did.

The elven hunter’s unicorn was caught in close quarters; Baru’s two pincers and tail struck simultaneously. The pincers delivered high bonus damage, while the scorpion’s tail attack injected poison causing continuous damage and slowing effects. The sand scorpion came equipped with multiple skills, and after a flurry of attacks, the elven hunter had no choice but to leap back and retreat, while the rhino charged forward to block Baru’s assault.

Suddenly, the sand scorpion vanished underground. When it reappeared, it surged out accompanied by a wave of spiked earth, instantly draining much of the elven hunter’s health and causing him to fall unconscious. The hunter activated his alliance badge to remove the effect and jumped back once more.

“Hunter mode!”

Storm charged forward, but the sand scorpion whipped up a sandstorm and disappeared. The elven hunter’s unicorn then activated the magic ring’s skill: Hunter Mode. This ability allowed him to detect the enemy’s location regardless of status or environment, while doubling his attack power—a devastating hunting skill. Because the unicorn possessed this skill, they planned to lure the magic ring bearers out and ambush them; any attempt at escape would be impossible once ambushed.

“What skill are you activating? I’m right behind you!” Baru, now back in his barbarian berserker form, landed a bloodthirsty strike on the unicorn’s back, then followed up with a heroic blow.

With his ultimate fully unleashed, Baru was terrifying; the combination of Bloodthirst and Heroic Blow had already reduced the unicorn’s health to a critical state.

The elven hunter quickly swapped positions with his pet. He hadn’t expected Baru to be right behind him, swiftly reducing him to near death. Baru was becoming more and more formidable; initially intending to capture others, he was now the one being hunted.

“Hey, hey, where do you think you’re running?” Baru, with his ultimate skill active, was annoyed the elven hunter had managed to escape a bit. If not for the hunter’s luck and the fact that Bloodthirst hadn’t triggered a free Gale Strike, he would have been dead by now.

“Charge!”

“Intercept!”

Baru charged at the warrior first, then intercepted the unicorn, stunning him. With a furious strike, he instantly killed the elven hunter. Just as Baru reached to pick up the magic ring and equipment, a prepared monk rolled twice across the ground and, with a spinning flying kick, struck Baru aside. The monk then naturally picked up the magic ring and equipment.

“Sorry, an ordained man must stand against injustice. This humble monk takes his leave!” The monk was thrilled to have the magic ring. As he tried to flee, the weapon warrior charged and blocked him. Exploiting a magic ring and trying to run—that wasn’t going to be so easy.

“You, monk, are you tired of living?” Baru was shocked to be ambushed. He had carefully checked his surroundings before and saw no one, only to find a monk hiding nearby. At the critical moment, the magic ring was stolen from him.

Now all three had magic rings, each considered a magic ring bearer. Storm had lost an ally and lacked a significant advantage; he had to seize a magic ring or he wouldn’t be able to continue.

The monk thought he could grab the magic ring and run, but didn’t expect the two to team up and surround him. He was in trouble; after all his effort to snatch the ring, he didn’t want to be killed so easily.

As the monk knocked the weapon warrior unconscious with a palm strike, intending to block Baru’s attack and then flee, Baru suddenly switched focus and bombarded Storm instead. Two ultimate skills unleashed in rapid succession reduced Storm to near death instantly.

Originally planning to run, the monk saw a chance to continue the assault on the magic rings and hesitated. He launched a sweeping leg strike, aiming to stun both and seize the advantage. However, his triple sweep only knocked the self-buffed warrior unconscious again. Baru, anticipating the monk’s return, had already drawn his shield to block the strike. The monk’s skills were well-executed, but his greed was his downfall.

Baru’s cheetah pet lurked nearby. As soon as the monk’s sweeping leg attack was launched, it struck back, bombarding the monk. Baru switched from shield to double-handed axes and with a furious strike killed Storm. He quickly picked up the magic ring and equipment. Just as he prepared to confront the monk, a nightblade leopard charged in, sending him flying.

“You bastard Feng, you finally showed up!” The monk said before rolling twice and fleeing. With Morning Breeze blocking Baru, the monk took off. But knowing that Morning Breeze had arrived and that a two-against-one could kill Baru, he immediately rolled back.

Seeing Morning Breeze sitting atop the nightblade leopard, Baru—usually domineering—felt somewhat troubled. His ultimate was already spent, and challenging Morning Breeze head-on was even harder. Previously, in the desert, Morning Breeze’s power hadn’t fully manifested due to the environment; now on flat ground, Morning Breeze was definitely formidable.

“Duan Chenfeng, you should know the rules of the magic rings. Are you really going to protect this monk?” Baru was puzzled. The rule of the magic rings was to gather as many as possible; why would Chenfeng guard the monk?

“I think you’re the bigger threat. Isn’t it better to have two people deal with you?” Chenfeng had no intention to fight. He knew that since Baru dared speak to him like this, Baru must have a way to escape. With the barbarian magic ring, the skeletal magic ring, and now an additional ring, Baru’s power was rising rapidly.

“You bastard Feng, why waste words? Kill him!” The monk didn’t dare attack himself; he knew Baru’s burst power was too strong and fighting would do him no good.

Baru transformed into the skeletal sand scorpion, whipping up a sandstorm and disappearing underground. He lacked a one-hit-kill sneak attack from underground; otherwise, capturing the magic ring would have been much easier. Although he couldn’t get two rings this time, one more was still a gain.

“Monk, I’m a magic ring bearer too. Aren’t you afraid I’ll kill you for holding the ring?” Chenfeng directed the nightblade leopard’s gaze toward the monk.

The monk was completely unconcerned—otherwise, he wouldn’t have called Chenfeng over. “Bastard Feng, your magic ring may have an extra attribute, but the effect isn’t that great, right? Isn’t it better to have this humble monk helping? Masters like me are rare on Earth.”

“Monk, not to offend, but having a magic ring isn’t always a blessing. Holding one might bring you a lot of trouble.” As a magic ring bearer, Chenfeng knew that possessing a ring made one an enemy to the entire game world. Given the monk’s personality, even with the ring, he was easy prey.

Possessing a magic ring meant danger; the monk might not realize this, thinking it was all pleasure.

“Haha, this humble monk is—” Before the monk could finish his boast, he was stunned. Without hesitation, Chenfeng signaled the nightblade leopard to move aside as a shockwave shot flew toward the monk.

The Disappearing Secret Chamber?

The arcane mage’s team arrived, and Chenfeng knew the monk was doomed. It was two against five, and they were being ambushed. Chenfeng couldn’t aid the monk; instead, he sent out the ghost rhino to knock the human thief away, giving the self-buffed monk a chance to flee. Chenfeng himself retreated.

“Don’t worry about Duan Chenfeng; kill the monk first.” The Disappearing Secret Chamber knew Chenfeng’s magic ring had two powerful survival skills; even five people hunting him down posed a challenge. His fleeing meant he didn’t want to tangle further, aiming to distract the enemies so the monk could escape.

The monk’s roll cooldown had just ended; he rolled twice back-to-back to flee swiftly. He had switched to the Bull Stance, a tank posture reducing damage taken and inflicting a 20% slow on attackers. His only thought now was to escape.

Heroic Leap.

Charge.

A shield warrior quickly intercepted the monk, while a thief sprinted forward. The hunter, accompanied by his pet, swiftly joined the encirclement. The arcane mage did not attack but watched nearby carefully to avoid surprises.

Chenfeng saw they didn’t pursue him and knew the monk was finished. It wasn’t that Chenfeng didn’t want to help; simply the odds were too overwhelming. Five people attacking together was too much to handle, even for him—unless he transformed into a blood dragon.

The Disappearing Secret Chamber did not fight; he observed the situation from nearby. This gave Chenfeng no openings. The arcane mage was formidable, especially with his high intelligence. Even with a mediocre team, he could unleash tremendous power.

Chenfeng suspected he possessed equipment that sensed magic ring locations; otherwise, it was impossible to so consistently find ring bearers. Today marked the second time Chenfeng had encountered him.

As expected, the monk was killed under concentrated fire from four, and the magic ring dropped again. It fell into the hands of the Disappearing Secret Chamber, making Chenfeng’s plan to wipe them out much harder. This was a five-person magic ring hunting squad; without a method to break them apart, it would be very difficult.

The moment the magic ring dropped, Chenfeng knew others would have intentions. The ring’s temptation was immense—even the best friends might consider betraying for it. Chenfeng was no Outless; he lacked the cunning to dismantle others’ teams. He turned and left without lingering.

The monk had barely held the magic ring for a few minutes before being killed. Chenfeng felt the monk now had no mood to seek out magic ring bearers to betray them. Holding a magic ring was thrilling, but being hunted down was truly heartbreaking. In this struggle for the magic rings, Chenfeng was merely a bystander, but he had seen much.

Magic rings are dangerous—handle them with care!
