Because he never met me!

“I have to admit, monk, you’re impressive—but I’m even better!”
The monk had lost. He’d thought his dual talents would be enough to best Morning Breeze, but he hadn’t anticipated just how overpowering Morning Breeze’s epic purple weapon was. Every time Morning Breeze unleashed a burst of power, it would drag the monk’s health down so low that he didn’t dare continue attacking—he had to stop and recover.
“You cheat, you’re using a purple weapon! This match doesn’t count!” the monk protested, grasping for an excuse to challenge Morning Breeze again.
“A loss is a loss. I didn’t say anything about you fighting me with dual talents, did I?” Morning Breeze shrugged. “Now stand still, set your pain sensitivity to 100%, and let me use you as a practice dummy. My hands have been itching for days!”
“No way...”
The monk was about to protest further, but Morning Breeze cut him off with a single remark: “If you don’t want the skill book, get lost!”
Morning Breeze then proceeded to use the monk as a punching bag—without even drawing a weapon, he pummeled and kicked with astonishing speed. The monk soon felt like crying. If the game allowed physical swelling like in real life, he would’ve looked like a pig’s head after less than two minutes.
“Damn it, you’re doing this on purpose...” Seeing that Morning Breeze wasn’t even using a weapon and was targeting only his face, the monk realized he was simply humiliating him.
Serves you right for being so arrogant! Now you know what misery feels like.
Morning Breeze ignored the monk’s complaints and kept up the beating. At first, the monk tried to appear tough and unaffected, but soon he couldn’t take the pain—100% sensitivity was no joke.
“My stomach hurts, nature’s calling...” After about eight minutes of serving as Morning Breeze’s target, the monk found an excuse to log off.
Morning Breeze dusted off his hands, certain that the monk wouldn’t dare act cocky in front of him again. He probably didn’t even know the meaning of the word “death.” It was already past nine; time for Morning Breeze to log off as well. Though he was considered muscle in the villa, he had a side job—cleaning. Clearly, Lin Shanshan had assigned him this chore on purpose, but Morning Breeze no longer cared to argue with her. He simply treated the cleaning as a bit of physical exercise. After a whole day of gaming, a little activity did him good.
As he mopped the floor downstairs, several beautiful women sat in the living room, chatting and laughing as they watched TV, clearly in high spirits. And why wouldn’t they be? They’d claimed the first kill on Heroic mode—a feat even professional teams had yet to achieve. What could be more exhilarating for a gamer?
Zhang Xinting glanced over at Morning Breeze, a top-tier player who could easily go pro, yet here he was, mopping the floor—a rather tragic sight. She knew he was suffering from amnesia and being bullied by Lin Shanshan.
The conversation turned to Blood Dragon. As Morning Breeze approached with his mop, Zhang Xinting asked, “Duan Morning Breeze, who’s stronger, you or Blood Dragon?”
“Me or Blood Dragon?” Morning Breeze paused, unsure why she was asking. Did she somehow know he was Blood Dragon? Impossible—he used a one-handed sword, while Blood Dragon wielded a two-hander. How could anyone make the connection?
“Oh, please. Blood Dragon is unstoppable—no one’s ever managed to kill him. And you think you could?” Lin Shanshan, ever contemptuous, once again dismissed Morning Breeze.
“Haha, the only reason Blood Dragon dominates is because he hasn’t met me yet! I’m as good as any pro—he wouldn’t stand a chance!” Morning Breeze meant what he said. After all, when he was around, Blood Dragon didn’t exist, and vice versa. They could never meet.
“You seem very confident in your skills! Getting a first kill doesn’t prove you’re unbeatable in the arena,” Ye Xin, the beautiful woman glued to her TV drama, sneered at his self-assurance. In her opinion, first kills were nothing special; even Zhang Xinting, who rarely played, could hold her own against professionals in the arena. The game was hardly such a big deal.

Morning Breeze turned his gaze to the long-legged beauty—Ye Xin, the owner of the villa. She’d only opened it up for the studio because she was good friends with Cheng Shuang, and she didn’t particularly like gaming herself. Even Cheng Shuang and Zhang Xinting, both skilled players, struggled to match her in other areas. Morning Breeze had learned from Cheng Xue that Ye Xin was an Olympic shooting champion. Though she’d only taken up shooting as a hobby and wasn’t a professional Olympian, she was even more skilled than those who were. In the game, she’d made a Hunter character and had already reached level sixteen.
She spent most of her days out and about, only logging in at night, yet had managed to reach level sixteen—a testament to her abilities. Her confidence stemmed from her extraordinary physical reflexes; even against a pro like Zhang Xinting, she wasn’t at a disadvantage. Morning Breeze rather despised players who could excel with little effort, considering that his own prowess came from rigorous training by his organization—training which this woman had clearly never undergone.
“Haha, sorry to disappoint you! I’m just as good in the arena, and I’ve never lost to a woman. I could beat you all with one hand tied behind my back!” Since this long-legged beauty was looking down on him, Morning Breeze didn’t bother to be polite. In the studio, the only person he treated with a modicum of respect was Cheng Xue; the rest he didn’t care about.
Never lost to a woman! That line immediately ignited everyone’s fury, and all eyes turned to Morning Breeze. Ye Xin realized his words were in direct response to her earlier comment—she hadn’t shown him any courtesy, so he saw no need to spare her feelings.
“You think you could beat me one-handed? No need for that—you wouldn’t stand a chance even if you tried your hardest!” Ye Xin had fought warriors before; she could kite them to death with ease. As long as she maintained an eight-meter distance, warriors couldn’t get close and were doomed.
“A match is simple enough, but what’s the point? Why not add a little wager? For instance, if you lose, you clean the villa for me for a month.” Morning Breeze saw no point in a pointless grudge match, but if Ye Xin insisted, he didn’t mind making her cry—and sparing himself from cleaning duties for a whole month.
“Deal!” Ye Xin didn’t know where Morning Breeze got his confidence, but her favorite thing was to crush it—especially in men.
Morning Breeze tossed aside the mop and dashed upstairs. He created a room and, after Zhang Xinting logged in, sent a message in the guild: “Arena 444, standard map, password 444444.”
Soon, the whole group of beautiful women joined—even the coldly elegant Retribution Paladin, Cheng Shuang, came to watch. This time, Morning Breeze didn’t use his epic one-handed Brotherhood Sword; instead, he equipped a blue one-handed sword in his main hand and a green one-handed sword in his off-hand.
Elven Hunter: Frost Snow, Ye Xin!
Long, slender legs; delicate, translucent hands; sharp eyes and lightning-fast reflexes—the Hunter class seemed tailor-made for her. Long legs meant faster running speed, and with Ye Xin’s reflexes, her movement was 20% faster than the average player. Morning Breeze observed her hands—her speed matched his own at his peak. As an Olympic shooting champion, her reaction time was top-tier. Her eyes, too, were incredibly precise—he estimated her accuracy at 80%. In short, Ye Xin’s execution of shooting skills was already above 80%.
The Hunter was a shooting class, but their skills didn’t have a 100% hit rate. Of course, you didn’t need to know how to use a real bow and arrow, but aiming—especially while moving—required real effort. Hunters also had to control their pets while shooting, making the class tricky to master, but devastating in skilled hands.
Charge!
Everyone knew that a warrior’s opener was typically Charge. But what puzzled the onlookers was that Morning Breeze charged not at Ye Xin, but at her leopard pet—one Bloodthirst and three Gale Strikes, and the pet was dead in an instant.
Six meters!
Ye Xin was only six meters away from Morning Breeze when her pet fell. In her mind, the pet was more of a liability, so she focused on maintaining an eight-meter gap to kite Morning Breeze to death. Now, she believed Morning Breeze was doomed.
Concussive Shot!
Dodge!
Ye Xin fired an arrow—a Hunter’s favorite kiting skill, Concussive Shot, which reduced the target’s movement speed by 50% for eight seconds. But to her surprise, Morning Breeze simply sidestepped and dodged, then leaped backward out to eight meters. Fortunately, Ye Xin was quick as well; as Morning Breeze tried to Intercept, she hurried forward and re-entered his eight-meter range.
Advance! Retreat!
Morning Breeze darted back and forth with incredible speed. Ye Xin found herself unable to find an opening to attack, forced to follow his relentless movements. She had intended to keep him at eight meters and kite him to death, but now realized she wasn’t getting a chance to shoot at all.
Back jump! Back jump!
Suddenly, Morning Breeze accelerated, leaping back twice to put more than eight meters between them, then immediately used Intercept—crashing straight into Zhang Xinting with a 90% skill completion, stunning her for 2.5 seconds. For Intercept, only a completion above 90% would trigger a 2.5-second stun; below that, it would inflict only damage.
Colossus Smash! Bloodthirst! Heroic Strike!
Three skills in rapid succession—during the 2.5-second stun, Morning Breeze began with Colossus Smash for 155 damage, allowing him to ignore 50% of Ye Xin’s defense. During the one-second global cooldown, he landed ten auto-attacks for over 400 damage, then Bloodthirst from his left hand for 208, and Heroic Strike—free from the global cooldown—for another 302. In the second global cooldown, his regular attacks did more than 400 damage again.
Gale Strike! –305
Before the 2.5-second stun ended, Ye Xin was already down. She hadn’t even had a chance to fight back. To kite Morning Breeze to death? In this game, very few could pull that off.
“Told you, women are no match for me!” Morning Breeze was in excellent spirits, having not only humbled this proud beauty but also winning himself a month free from cleaning duties.
“Again!” Ye Xin, unfazed, got up and immediately sent Morning Breeze another challenge request.
