032 The Heaven-Defying Law of Survival!

The Savage Bull Plains is a leveling and troop recruitment area in Zone 24 of the world map. The terrain here is relatively flat, mainly consisting of grasslands and forests, with few tribal patrols appearing. It’s an excellent spot for leveling up. The experience gained on the world map is 20% higher than in the national zones, which is why many players risk venturing into the world map to level up.
Charge!
Bloodthirsty!
A mage and his teammates had just slain a wave of armored Savage Bulls when suddenly a blood-red draconic humanoid charged forward. Wielding a massive axe adorned with skulls, the creature swung down and then up in a brutal motion. With a bloodthirsty strike followed by a regular attack, the mage was instantly killed.
Swinging with momentum!
Before the foreign players could react, the blood dragon delivered a sweeping blow that severely damaged the tank, the Retribution Paladin, and the rogue’s health. Due to a one-second global cooldown, Morning Breeze couldn’t use a similar attack immediately. Instead, he intercepted and stunned the priest, then executed a heroic leap backward, bombarding the ground with an explosive attack. The rogue, already near death, was killed outright, and Morning Breeze quickly targeted the Retribution Paladin.
Hand of Protection!
Without any invincibility skills, the Retribution Paladin could only cast Hand of Protection on himself and then heal the tank. Although Retribution Paladins possess healing abilities, they are much weaker compared to dedicated healers. The blood dragon’s simple melee damage alone surpassed the paladin’s healing output.
Just as the tank warrior heroically leapt away, Morning Breeze finished him off with a heroic throw. The Retribution Paladin, shielded by Hand of Protection and immune to physical attacks, was left unscathed, so Morning Breeze did not attack him. He then tossed a Demoralizing Banner toward the priest’s position and rushed in to assist. With a furious slash, he instantly killed the fleeing priest.
Shattering Throw!
The warrior’s Shattering Throw skill can remove invincibility effects like Hand of Protection, which blocks physical damage. Once removed, the Retribution Paladin’s fate was sealed.
“Players brave enough to level on the world map truly have powerful gear,” Morning Breeze said as he picked up the loot dropped by the players. All the equipment was at least fine-quality blue gear, including a pair of Silverflash Cloth Shoes—quite impressive. Over the past three days, Morning Breeze had become a blood dragon, roaming and slaying everywhere, neglecting quests entirely.
As more players entered the world map, Morning Breeze could hunt them freely with his blood dragon character. He felt the world map was more rewarding—facing players from all over the globe made his hunts more thrilling.
With the chance to loot player gear, gain experience bonuses, and the adrenaline rush, Morning Breeze found no better way to hone his powers than slaughtering players across the world map. The lightning damage once granted by the Blue Thunder Elf talent vanished when he became a blood dragon, further eliminating any doubt that Morning Breeze was indeed a blood dragon.
On the world map, Morning Breeze’s greatest wish was to encounter the Ringbearer. With the blood dragon’s overwhelming burst, even Barrow and Peter dared not engage him head-on. Even if Peter transformed into a giant dragon, Morning Breeze would confront him without hesitation—the blood dragon’s ferocity was something no giant dragon form could match.

After roaming the Savage Bull Plains for several hours, Morning Breeze had killed nearly all the players leveling there. Although the world map players had good gear, their awareness was not as sharp as the Chinese server players, who were accustomed to Morning Breeze’s ambushes. Killing them was effortless, with no pressure at all. Facing players from the Chinese server would be much more troublesome; their escape skills were formidable.
Chinese leveling parties were extremely cautious when killing monsters. Rogues focused less on damage and more on monitoring their surroundings, trying to prevent Morning Breeze’s first strike. Hunters always tracked humanoid creatures, and their mini-radar alerted them immediately when any light spots approached, keeping the team vigilant. Successfully ambushing them was very difficult. Even if Morning Breeze managed to land a sneak attack, all players would quickly regroup. The tank would shield the priest, shamans or holy paladins would stay nearby for healing, and the rest of the players would converge as fast as possible.
Rogues would instantly vanish without hesitation—not out of cowardice, but to pressure Morning Breeze. A vanished rogue was particularly troublesome; if he launched a surprise attack or used blind, controlling Morning Breeze would spell disaster. Morning Breeze was wary of vanished rogues, especially when many players clustered together to fight him, often forcing him to retreat.
Chinese players had grown very experienced at surviving Morning Breeze’s assaults. Although their levels were generally lower than foreign players, their outdoor survival skills were excellent. Even when facing patrols of tribal warriors, they could easily escape. To them, the tribal patrols were not frightening; what terrified them was the blood dragon.
A top pinned post from the Chinese server had been translated into multiple languages and shared on forums worldwide, also pinned. This post was even more legendary than “Survival Rules on the World Map,” accumulating several times more views. Its title was “The Ultimate Survival Guide Against Dragon Bro.”
The post read:
If you feel this guide is useless to you, please leave—it means you haven’t been killed enough times by Dragon Bro. Dragon Bro rarely appears, but when he does, bloodshed follows. Don’t fool yourself into thinking you won’t encounter him. If you love this game, you will die under Dragon Bro’s Aegis Axe. As someone who has encountered Dragon Bro 21 times and barely escaped twice, I have conducted thorough investigations on forums and observed his habits.
Survival Rule 1: If you sense unusual movements around you, feel the chill in the air, notice healing suddenly stop, see team portraits quickly darken, or get a whiff of death, activate survival skills immediately. Dragon Bro is likely nearby. Don’t wait until you see him to use your skills—you probably won’t have time because you’ll be down. If you don’t know what “the smell of death” means, it means you haven’t died enough.
Survival Rule 2: If you are lucky enough to see Dragon Bro, quickly gather with your teammates. Only by clustering together will his damage be reduced. Warriors must switch to shield and activate Shield Reflection; failure to reflect his Shockwave means certain death. Dragon Bro’s Shockwave can control players. Also beware of his Intercept and Intimidating Shout, so priests must cast Fear Ward. Don’t think shield reflection and Fear Ward guarantee safety—remember his spinning flying axe. Warriors or paladins must block with skills when the axe appears. If it hits a shield wall or invincibility skill like Hand of Protection, it will bounce back.
Survival Rule 3: When clustered with shield reflection active and Fear Ward up, try to use all available control skills to push Dragon Bro back. Though few have these skills, use them if you can. Once Dragon Bro enters stealth and runs off, if you lack a hunter’s mini-radar, immediately exit combat and log off. Dragon Bro won’t waste time waiting for you to log back in.
Survival Rule 4: If your team lacks warriors and priests, the best strategy is to scatter and flee in different directions. Whether you escape depends on which direction Dragon Bro pursues first.
Survival Rule 5: Hunters and rogues must follow these tips when leveling: Hunters must track humanoids. If you can’t watch your damage and mini-radar at once, get used to checking the radar first, then output. Your vision determines whether Dragon Bro ambushes you. Rogues must pay close attention to surroundings when attacking, especially without a hunter. If you have a pet that detects invisibility, send it to patrol nearby. If Dragon Bro appears and you survive, immediately vanish and sprint away together. Without vanish, sprint as fast as possible. No teammate will call you coward—hiding is a tactic against Dragon Bro. A well-timed ambush or blind can save your team.
Survival Rule 6: Paladins must be self-sacrificing. When unable to stop Dragon Bro’s rampage, step up, cast Hand of Protection, and outmaneuver Dragon Bro. Avoid staying too close—keep about two meters to dodge his Rage Strike, moving left and right alongside him. One person down is better than many. Your teammates will remember you, Paladin!
Survival Rule 7: Never attempt to kill Dragon Bro. From studying his appearances, his abnormal resistance is terrifying; he is immune to about 70% of control skills. His attacks have life-steal with a 2-second cooldown, and his burst damage fully restores his health. When surrounded and controlled, his health still dropped only 35% under focused fire, followed by a dreaded Healing Wind. Imagine how hard he is to kill.
Survival Rule 8: Rogues leveling or treasure hunting, avoid main roads; travel alongside them instead. Dragon Bro stealthily patrols the main roads. If you encounter him there, you’re dead. Don’t ride mounts on main roads either. (One player learned this harsh lesson after repeatedly running into Dragon Bro while sneaking along Green Forest Valley’s roads.)
Survival Rule 9: Monitor world chat. If Dragon Bro’s location is announced, run or log off immediately. Typically, Dragon Bro stays on the mini-map for 20 minutes, and on the world map for 40 to 80 minutes.
Survival Rule 10: Warlocks and priests using control skills must be cautious. Never fear Dragon Bro. Once he goes into Berserk Rage, a single Rage Strike can kill instantly. Shadow priests should frequently use Mind Horror and Silence.
Survival Rule 11: Dragon Bro has four movement skills—Charge, Intercept, Heroic Leap, and Banner Support—and a powerful divine ability that negates movement restrictions, making him highly mobile. To survive, try to have a large pet that can block your body, especially for priests, warlocks, and mages, as a bloodthirsty strike plus a regular attack can kill you instantly.
Survival Rule 12: Rogues, use your Smoke Bomb well. If you have a priest, throw smoke bombs early, as Dragon Bro likes to intercept priests. As for mages and warlocks, they are usually Dragon Bro’s initial ambush targets and rarely get to act.
Survival Rule 13: Mages must use Blink and Ice Block wisely. Blink isn’t just for when you’re stunned or fleeing; it’s best used when you sense an ambush. I know several mages who stay alert and immediately blink to avoid Dragon Bro’s charge multiple times. If Dragon Bro doesn’t kill you first, calculate his intercept and leap range to blink beyond them. Ice Block can substitute for Blink at the start or be used when attacked, but always flee if you get the chance. Invisibility can help after Blink to avoid intercept and charge. These tips mainly apply to Frost and Fire mages; I know less about Arcane mages.
Survival Rule 14: Dragon Bro loves ambushing in forests and mountains. Level in deserts, plains, or lakesides where visibility is better.
Survival Rule 15: If you hear “This road is mine...” on main or side roads, log off immediately. Dragon Bro often opens with this phrase when bored.
Survival Rule 16: If you know you can’t avoid Dragon Bro’s ambush, equip white-grade weapons to avoid losing valuable gear. Don’t wear too much good equipment while leveling outside—no matter how good your gear is, it won’t save you from Dragon Bro.
Survival Rule 17: Don’t watch Dragon Bro kill, even if you’re a rogue. Don’t loot his unwanted gear—it’s likely he’s nearby waiting for you. Many rogues have died from greed.
Survival Rule 18: Do not gang up on Dragon Bro. Several major guilds tried and only angered him, leading to coordinated ambushes on their members. It’s normal for Dragon Bro to kill your guildmates—just laugh it off. If you resist, he’ll slaughter your guild again! Even powerful alliances like the Divine War Guild have been silenced by Dragon Bro’s reign.
Survival Rule 19: Don’t be overconfident around Dragon Bro; encountering him will humble you.
Survival Rule 20: Don’t expect family ties to save you. To Dragon Bro, except for his exclusive reporters, everyone else is fair game.
Survival Rule 21: Dying under Dragon Bro’s axe is normal. Don’t foolishly talk about revenge—that only shows how defeated you are. If Dragon Bro kills you, adjust your mindset and reflect on what you did wrong. This might be your first time, but it won’t be the last.
Survival Rule 22: Places where Dragon Bro appears are more dangerous than the world map itself. When we reach the world map, we’ll realize it’s not as terrifying as official sources say. Dragon Bro will come to the world map, and when he does, foreign players will face a tragic end. Trust me, foreign players are doomed to die even worse!
