048 Solo Dungeon Run!
Chapter 1 of 3
Chen Feng found himself alone in the level 34 Wolfman Hill dungeon, relentlessly slaughtering hordes of dark werewolves. Charging forward, intercepting enemies, bolstered by the morale-dampening banner and protective aids, he skillfully gathered thirty-five monsters into five waves using Brave Throw and Brave Leap, chaining their aggro together. Immediately, he unleashed the chilling Wind Shock to mow them down en masse and slow their movements, followed by a concussive wave that dealt area damage and induced stun. Switching into a defensive stance, Chen Feng plunged into the dark werewolf pack, unleashing a furious burst of attacks.
Facing thirty-five werewolves, Chen Feng showed no fear. It wasn’t just that his damage output was absurdly high—no matter how strong, without a broken or legendary artifact, he couldn’t possibly outpace the combined assault power of thirty-eight level-35 dark werewolves, even with his nimble dodging. Even a five-player party found the Wolfman Hill dungeon on Hard difficulty challenging, let alone Chen Feng attempting it solo on Heroic. His audacity came purely from his extraordinary survivability.
First, though Chen Feng wasn’t carrying a shield, his Steel Body passive granted him nearly equivalent defense, combined with a 25% damage immunity that reduced incoming damage to 75%.
Second, the Heroic skill Steel Back rendered him immune to 30% of damage from behind and 15% from the sides. Since Steel Back applied after the defensive stance, its calculation was based on the 75% damage threshold. In other words, damage from behind was effectively reduced to 52.5% and from the side to 63.75% of the original.
Third, the Blood Magic Ring gave him a 22% chance to completely negate any damage from an attack. This chance had no internal cooldown, allowing it to trigger consecutively. Therefore, every hit first checked for immunity before damage reduction was applied. Converted into damage reduction terms, Chen Feng effectively negated 22% of damage outright, further lowering the damage he took.
Fourth, with 20% lifesteal from the Blood Magic Ring and 15% from the Blood Dragon Ring, Chen Feng stacked a total 35% lifesteal effect. Each attack had a 35% chance to restore health equal to 35% of the damage dealt. Although this had a 2-second internal cooldown, Chen Feng’s attack speed ensured frequent activation, and critical hits amplified his healing even more. Wielding Frostmourne in one hand and an Argent Axe in the other, his damage was outrageous, and he had no fear of sustaining damage.
Fifth, Chen Feng could use Blood Strike every ten seconds to restore 20% of his health. Additionally, Frostmourne’s passive granted him a blood shield absorbing damage equal to 20% of his maximum health, slowing his health decline.
Chapter 2 of 3
Sixth, with Revival Wind active, when his health dropped below 35%, Chen Feng regained 3% of his maximum health per second. Combined with his other damage mitigation and healing effects, this synergy made survival effortless.
Seventh, in perilous situations, Steel Body granted him 70% damage immunity for ten seconds, followed by 35% immunity for another five seconds. The Sword Lives On provided 20% damage immunity. Desperate Measures boosted his max health and health recovery by 30%. Stealth granted two seconds of invincibility, while Riftwalk enabled spatial transfer and critical-hit-based healing.
Eighth, armed with Frostmourne and the Argent Axe, Chen Feng’s damage output was insanely high. With chilling Wind Shock to slow enemies and concussive wave to stun, even a swarm of monsters could be swiftly dispatched.
With all these survivability advantages, plus two powerful orange-tier weapons and his identity as a supernatural assassin, if he couldn’t solo this dungeon, he might as well quit the game. He could tank, heal, and deal damage—one character fulfilling three roles.
After felling all thirty-five dark werewolves, Chen Feng’s health remained full, even overflowing during the fight. With his explosive damage, clearing them was fast; surviving ten seconds was enough to bring them down. Chen Feng pressed forward relentlessly, even against bosses, charging with bloodthirsty bursts without hesitation.
“I should have soloed this dungeon earlier!” Chen Feng felt relaxed after killing the boss. Had he known it would be this easy, he would have tried solo farming sooner. He had once glanced at walkthroughs for level 30+ dungeons and found them daunting, but now he realized he had surpassed that. At his current strength, he could handle level 40 dungeons, though no guides existed yet, and without knowledge of boss skills, progression would be slow.
Outrales gifted Chen Feng an automated mechanical dog to pick up loot, saving him the time of gathering items manually or calling others. If Cheng Xue and Lin Shanshan joined, Chen Feng couldn’t wield the Argent Axe, slowing his farming speed and splitting experience too much. With the mechanical dog’s help, everything became easier.
Heroic dungeons dropped good gear—greens and blues were common, with occasional silver-glint equipment from bosses. Chen Feng gave some gear to Cheng Xue and auctioned the rest at the Eternal Auction House. His output was huge, and his prices were low; most items sold out immediately, with many guilds stationing agents to snatch gear there.
The Eternal boss wanted to raise Chen Feng’s prices but Chen Feng insisted on direct sales. Most items were sold to guilds, some auctioned directly, preventing gear from flooding the open map’s economy. In a week, the Horde would launch a full assault on the Alliance, requiring national guild players to defend. Better gear increased victory odds. Losing a capital would mean long recovery, and many functions would be lost.
In just two days, Chen Feng leapt from level 34 to 36—two levels in a flash, roughly one per day. The highest players hovered around level 38, but at this pace, Chen Feng could reach 60 easily. No one knew his leveling method. The Cobra and Acid Rain organizations scoured the map for him but found no trace. They never suspected Chen Feng was solo farming dungeons.
Soon, the Cobra organization discovered Chen Feng’s dungeon farming. They noticed Frost Snow Guild’s surge in high-level gear and the flood of equipment at the Eternal Auction House, closely tied to Chen Feng. Yet they couldn’t understand how Chen Feng found dungeon teammates—his squads trained separately in both China and the open map. Finally, they tracked the dungeon Chen Feng farmed and found—he soloed it. Many players formed parties at the dungeon entrance but never noticed a single player teleport in and immediately enter.
Chapter 3 of 3
Chen Feng entered the dungeon immediately upon exiting the previous run, leading many to assume he had fled or was just a guild pioneer. Few paid close attention. Teleporting from the dungeon granted invincibility, and players couldn’t block entry, so even knowing Chen Feng farmed the dungeon, the Cobra organization could only watch helplessly. They had to wait until he reached level 37, after which unlimited dungeon runs would cease. Unlimited dungeon runs were tough on the open map, with less experience but better gear drops, so most players didn’t farm them endlessly—unless, like Chen Feng, they could solo and gain five players’ worth of experience.
“Chen Feng, you’re incredible!” Cheng Xue and Lin Shanshan couldn’t believe he soloed Heroic dungeons. Though they respected him, they never thought he could manage this. Chen Feng brought them along because after hitting level 37, solo dungeon runs would stop. Now, with them, he could level up faster and avoid their pestering for carries. Training in the wild was risky solo, and even more so with two others.
With them present, Chen Feng couldn’t use the Argent Axe, slowing his pace, but he still cleared dungeons, just a few minutes slower. They helped ferry gear and materials, saving him trips to town or use of teleport flags.
Sometimes Chen Feng brought Outrales, Monk, and others to farm dungeons—not free rides, but in exchange for helping him train small bat units. Pets and units couldn’t enter dungeons, so Chen Feng couldn’t train troops there. Helping Outrales and Monk level outside was a win-win.
Outrales and Stan left troop training to others. While farming dungeons with Chen Feng, Stan gathered intelligence and analyzed data. Outrales continued tracking Baru and the Dragon Knight's whereabouts. In the struggle for the Magic Rings, they were the greatest threats.
Recently, some promising Magic Ring bearers surfaced but were quickly killed, leaving only a few survivors.
Previously eliminated Gao Ruyuntian reclaimed his Magic Ring to make a comeback. He had hired the Cobra organization to recover an orange Samurai Sword—the foundation of his rise—and now entered the competition. The assassin organization’s Divine Stinger also acquired many Magic Rings, another contender. The Lost Chamber hunted Magic Ring bearers, but all their rings were given to the Cobra organization they collaborated with, suggesting a pact. Now, the Cobra organization’s five spirits all wield Magic Rings, forming a powerful squad.
In the Brazil region, a five-member Magic Ring collecting team emerged, each member strong. They clashed with the Cobra organization and Lost Chamber in the wild. Baru suddenly appeared, killing the enhanced shaman of Cobra and the discipline priest of the Amazon squad, looting their Magic Rings before escaping, ending the battle.
Baru’s Magic Rings had already devoured twenty, the highest among all. Chen Feng, Outrales, and Stan prepared a plan to capture him. Whoever seized his rings would elevate their properties to the utmost limit!
