Duan Chenfeng greets you!
After leaving the Frost and Snow Guild, Morning Wind had no worries weighing him down and directly declared war on the top five major guilds. He primarily targeted them across the open world, with his most insidious tactic being to lure squads of Horde patrols straight to their leveling zones. With the Horde currently preparing to counterattack the Alliance, Horde patrols were abundant across the vast map, so Morning Wind had no trouble finding them.
"Chen Feng's counter-reconnaissance ability is off the charts, and coupled with the Demon Ring he possesses, we simply stand no chance of pinning down his location." The Acid Rain Organization had originally allied with the five major guilds to hunt down Morning Wind, but now that he had quit the guild, he had turned the tables on them. According to their prior agreement, if Morning Wind left the guild, both the Acid Rain and Cobra organizations were supposed to deal with him, yet currently, they were entirely helpless against him.
"Just who on earth is this Chen Feng? We knew he was cautious and meticulous before, but his outburst of retaliation is truly terrifying. Even our elite operatives are no match for him." Members of the Acid Rain and Cobra organizations were far from ordinary, but they found themselves completely out of options when pitted against Morning Wind. Both organizations had severely underestimated him, and now that things had escalated, they had no idea how to clean up the mess.
Had Morning Wind not left the guild, the two organizations would still have had ways to deal with him. They could have simply provoked Frost and Snow Guild players to draw Morning Wind out. But now that he had quit so abruptly and gone into hiding to launch guerrilla strikes, they were left completely without recourse.
Morning Wind sat in a tavern room, gazing down at the ring on his left hand. The Ring of Sin had accumulated a considerable number of sin points, yet its attributes remained unchanged. He wondered how many sin points were required before he could finally remove the ring and transform it into a piece of powerful gear.
"Brother Chen Wind, we've arrived!" Handsome Undercover entered the room accompanied by four of his best rogue friends. They were formidable rogues from the Assassination Organization; though their current gear wasn't top-tier, their assassination techniques were exceptionally brilliant. Morning Wind had long since provided a batch of equipment to Handsome Undercover to fully arm them.
Morning Wind set down his beer mug, added them all to his friends list, and sent a screenshot to each of them. The images displayed the guild masters of the God War, Wind Chaser, Wind and Cloud, Dark Night, and Furious Thunder guilds respectively.
"Your mission is to assassinate them," Morning Wind instructed. "You only need to beat them to within an inch of their lives, and then leave them with a warning: 'Chen Feng sends his regards.' Once you deliver the warning, you are free to retreat."
Guild masters were typically not professional gamers. They usually possessed a modest level of skill—not quite at the professional tier—and were handpicked by esports clubs to act as figureheads. Guild masters like those of the God War, Wind and Cloud, and Dark Night guilds were essentially a bunch of wealthy second-generation heirs whose technical skills were mediocre at best, meaning eliminating them shouldn't pose much of a problem. Killing them outright was uninteresting; Morning Wind's goal was to make them acutely aware that rogues were constantly lurking in their shadows, keeping them in a state of perpetual anxiety. Eventually, they would pressure the two major organizations, and if those organizations proved unable to handle him, their alliance would inevitably collapse.
"Brother Chen Wind, they're guild masters; they're bound to have crowds surrounding them. It won't be easy to strike, and even if we pull it off, escaping will be extremely difficult..." One of the rogues began to voice concerns over his personal safety, knowing that attacking a guild master guarded by a throng of followers was a tall order.
Handsome Undercover, however, seemed entirely unbothered by the difficulty. "Since Brother Chen Wind called upon us, it means he thinks highly of us. Forget assassinating guild masters; I'd go after team captains if he asked."
"Your job is simply to deliver the warning," Morning Wind said. "If you run into trouble during your escape, you can contact me, and I'll send people to back you up. If you fail, don't ever come see me again, and consider the gear I gave you a welcoming gift. Anyone who wants to back out now still has time!"
Handsome Undercover didn't say another word and walked out on his own, signaling that he was heading off to execute the mission right away. Morning Wind had treated him so generously and only asked him to handle one task; if he couldn't even pull that off, he might as well just drop dead. Handsome Undercover knew that following Morning Wind was infinitely better than staying with the Assassination Organization—at least he wouldn't lack gear or money.
Once outside, the others immediately intercepted Handsome Undercover. "Undercover, if we help Chen Feng behind the organization's back, will we get punished later?"
"We've got someone high up watching our backs, what are you afraid of? Even if there are fines, I'll pay them for you!" Handsome Undercover had ten thousand gold coins sitting in his inventory, so a penalty of a few hundred gold coins was nothing to worry about. He added frankly, "I can tell you honestly, once you get on Brother Chen Wind's good side, you'll have whatever you want in the future!"

The Shadowy Corner kept watch over the upper echelons of the Assassination Organization, meaning that as long as they turned a blind eye, minor infractions of the organization's rules wouldn't cause any real trouble. Although the Shadowy Corner hadn't explicitly ordered Handsome Undercover to help Morning Wind, his silence amounted to tacit approval. Being one of the four major pillars of the organization, he simply couldn't voice such permission openly.
"Whatever we want? You're kidding, right, Undercover? Go on, get me gear, get me gold, get me beauties!" One rogue remained skeptical. While Morning Wind was undeniably formidable, was he really acting like a tycoon?
Handsome Undercover flashed the exact number of gold coins in his possession. "Just yesterday, Brother Chen Wind had me run an arena match for him, and I made ten thousand gold coins right on the spot. And there's more you don't know: Brother Chen Wind has at least two legendary weapons in his inventory, and even his alternate character uses epic set weapons. You can just imagine how insanely wealthy Brother Chen Wind is! I'm giving you an opportunity, and all you do is complain. If you don't want to do this quest, I can easily find other brothers to take your place."
They had seen generous people before, but never anyone on this scale! Even the boss of their organization didn't own an epic weapon, let alone an entire set of epic weapons, yet here was a mere alternate character sporting them.
Following that, Morning Wind transformed into the Blood Dragon and went on a massive killing spree across the open world, slaughtering players in all thirty-two districts without sparing a single soul. He made sure to pass through several leveling zones belonging to the five major guilds, bombarding them to death. By the end of his rampage, thirty-eight guilds across the entire world had suffered cleansings by the Blood Dragon, with three of the top five major guilds bearing the brunt of Morning Wind's purge.
Handsome Undercover sneaked into the Furious Thunder Guild's leveling zone, which boasted over four hundred members. He quietly crept close to their guild master, Furious Thunder Fire, activated Shadow Dance and Dark Blades, and unleashed a frenzied burst of attacks to inflict maximum damage in the shortest time possible. After accumulating four combo points, he immediately followed up with Eviscerate, unleashing his peak damage output.
Smoke Bomb!
Shadowstep!
"Chen Feng sends his regards!" Handsome Undercover threw down a smoke bomb to distract the others before activating Shadowstep to make his getaway.
Naturally, Handsome Undercover couldn't actually kill the Furious Thunder Guild master; he had simply blown a rotation of skills and immediately retreated. With their guild master ambushed, the entire guild began searching for the rogue. Catching sight of Handsome Undercover sprinting away with Sprint active, the entire crowd gave chase. Having heard Handsome Undercover shout, "Chen Feng sends his regards," everyone knew this operative had been sent by Morning Wind to make a statement. Since Duan Chen Feng had slaughtered so many of their brothers, there was zero chance they would let the undercover rogue escape.
A hunter locked onto his target, broadcasting Handsome Undercover's coordinates, and the rest quickly closed in. However, Handsome Undercover ran too fast, and aided by Vanish, he quickly found a secluded spot to hide. Utilizing his Stealth effect, he blended right back into a crowd of neutral players, rendering even the hunters unable to pinpoint his location.
"Chen Feng sends his regards!"
The guild masters of all five major guilds were ambushed in turn. These rogues had prepared thoroughly just to deliver the message, retreating immediately after their burst phase so the five major guilds failed to capture a single one of them. Two of the rogues had nearly been cornered; fortunately, one leaped into a body of water to hide while the other threw himself off a cliff, using Slow Fall to reduce his descent speed before driving a dagger deep into the cliffside rock face to save his life, eventually finding a foothold and casting his Hearthstone to teleport back to the city.
"Chen Feng, what is the meaning of this? You promised to send backup, but when we ran into danger, you didn't reply at all! Were you just sending us out to die?" As soon as the five rogues entered the tavern room, the one who had jumped off the cliff immediately pointed at Morning Wind and cursed.

Aside from Handsome Undercover, who kept his composure, the other four looked at Morning Wind with undisguised murderous intent, wishing they could carve him up with their daggers right then and there. Morning Wind, however, didn't take them seriously in the least. "You didn't die, you made it back offline, and you're still here throwing tantrums at me? Consider yourselves having passed."
Morning Wind walked up to the rogue who had just shouted, shoved him by the forehead, and forced him back two steps. "If you're going to dabble in assassinations, you need to look out for your own life. Waiting for someone else to come save you? You'd have been dead ages ago!"
"Now that you've passed the trial, I'll give you tasks whenever I have them!" Morning Wind reached into his inventory, pulled out five gold-tier daggers, and placed them on the table. "I was bored earlier and grinding my forging proficiency, so I crafted these five gold-tier daggers. Their damage stats vary slightly; take one at random."
Morning Wind had long since mastered forging, and being intimately familiar with weapon manufacturing techniques, his proficiency had skyrocketed. Crafting weapons was a breeze for him now—all he needed was a blueprint to imitate, and producing a weapon became effortless. These five daggers had been forged in the likeness of the epic dagger, Serpent Fang, and came with bonus fixed-damage attributes alongside extraordinarily high output, rivaling even the damage of single-handed swords.
Upon picking up the gold-tier daggers and seeing the characters forged by Duan Chen Feng engraved upon them, the group beamed with unadulterated joy. Up until then, they had been making do with a mismatched mix of blue daggers and Silverflash daggers, which lacked decent damage and poor output. The daggers Morning Wind handed out were absolute top-tier masterpieces for dealing damage.
"Take two thousand gold coins each, and go deliver my regards to those guild masters every single day," Morning Wind said. "You don't even have to do the dirty work yourselves this time; just send random people over to do it. If a prime opportunity arises, feel free to kill them outright. If you achieve results and run short on funds, just call me whenever you need more."
Morning Wind had numerous ways to exact his revenge, and this was merely one of them—making those guild masters live in constant dread whenever they went out to level. Leaving such dangerous yet tedious operations to subordinates was far more efficient than doing it himself.
"Brother Chen Wind, we took your daggers, and now we're taking your money too... This doesn't feel quite right..." The rogue who had barked the loudest earlier now looked somewhat sheepish. Morning Wind was every bit as bold, decisive, and fantastically wealthy as Handsome Undercover had claimed.
"I told you to take them, so take them. Did you think having your subordinates execute hits was free? If you don't want them, I'll take them back and save myself a bundle!" Before Morning Wind could pull his hand back, the five rogues snatched the money pouches off the table in a flash. Their previous hesitation had merely been a polite pretense; none of them expected Morning Wind to be dead serious.
With weapons in hand and bags full of gold, the five felt an overwhelming rush of satisfaction and chorused together, "Many thanks for looking out for us, Brother Chen Wind!"
"Working with me will never leave you shortchanged!" Morning Wind originally intended to log off, but a sudden thought struck him. "Here's another task: whichever of you can turn these five trash guilds completely upside down will receive a special surprise from me. All expenses incurred during the process can be reimbursed by me!"
"Brother Chen Wind, log off and get some sleep early, leave these trivial matters to us!" Handsome Undercover declared with absolute certainty. During his previous stakeout, he had already brainstormed countless ways to torment those bastards. Now that Morning Wind had promised to cover all expenses and offer a surprise reward upon success, he was fully prepared to risk it all!
Just as Morning Wind logged out, Lin Shanshan logged in and sent him a direct message: "Chen Feng, it's thundering—come keep me company!"
