053 Infinite Wrathful Slash!
There are three bosses in the Troll's Wrath dungeon. The final challenge awaited Morning Breeze and his companions at the troll altar in the center of the fortress. Atop the altar, a troll priest appeared to be conducting a summoning ritual, guarded by over thirty troll warriors patrolling below to protect the ceremony. In normal mode, once the priest completes the summoning, a war beast appears—the true final boss. Even in normal difficulty, this beast is capable of annihilating the entire party; heroic mode only amplifies the challenge.
Even after the war beast appears, it cannot be attacked immediately. The troll priest must be slain first, or else he will continuously summon troll warriors, making the battle even harder. Morning Breeze had studied the guides and knew the priest needed to be killed quickly, yet all those troll warriors below also had to be dealt with; letting them bombard the party would be troublesome.
“Jumper, have your giant turtle pull the troll warriors below. I’ll go up alone and take care of the priest,” Morning Breeze instructed. Once combat began, the priest would summon the war beast after two minutes; Morning Breeze wanted to see if he could kill the priest within that window. If so, they could skip fighting the war beast entirely.
He wasn’t sure he could tank the war beast—a creature as massive as a dragon. If Bear Tank were here, it would be easier; dodging and leaping allowed quick evasion of attacks. A warrior relying on shield blocks and parries would find it much more difficult.
“My pet can’t hold that many!” Jumper protested. His pet had thick skin and plenty of health, but lacked the damage output to maintain aggro. At such a critical moment, Jumper dared not act recklessly—they’d be blamed if the group wiped.
“The mage can freeze some, I’ll fear a batch, Shockwave can stun a few more, and the rest we’ll kill as quickly as possible!” Morning Breeze understood the limitations of pets, but felt this approach offered the best chance of clearing the dungeon. If the war beast were summoned, he couldn’t guarantee he could tank it. “If it doesn’t work, we’ll run back and try again! Everyone’s raiding now—if we take it slow, we might not finish the quest!”
Players could die twice in the dungeon without logging out, so even a wipe meant another attempt.
“You’re on the altar; it’ll be hard for me to heal you,” Twilight Glow pointed out. Morning Breeze attacking the troll priest atop the altar was out of her healing range, unless she climbed up specifically to heal him.
“No need to worry, I can handle it myself!” Morning Breeze equipped the Blood Dragon Ring, the Blood Lion Chain, and the Blood Magic Ring. Since he had hidden his jewelry, the Blood Dragon Ring set didn’t show, but the Magic Ring, a diamond ring, could not be concealed and was visible.
With the Blood Dragon Ring set and the Magic Ring, Morning Breeze’s lifesteal effect reached 25%. This didn’t mean every attack restored 25% of the damage dealt, but there was a 25% chance to restore 25% of his health per attack. The higher the lifesteal, the higher the trigger rate, maxing out at 35%.
“The Blood Magic Ring!” Everyone saw the ring on Morning Breeze’s hand and was stunned. They hadn’t expected the Jungle King’s ring to end up in his possession. The four present didn’t know Morning Breeze had an alt character, so they assumed he’d looted the Jungle King’s ring himself.
The racial advancement ritual was rare; Morning Breeze had to seize this opportunity or risk never having another chance. The Magic Ring would eventually be discovered, and since he could now advance his race, he didn’t mind revealing he owned the ring.
“Hold out for two minutes if possible! If not, kite the mobs away…” With the Magic Ring revealed, the others had no objections.
Jumper’s hunter turtle moved in to pull the mobs; as they approached, Morning Breeze charged in, using Bloodlust and Shield Slam to build rage, then unleashed Intimidating Shout to control three troll warriors. Shockwave stunned them, locking them down.
Ice Ring!
Eternal Song cast a freezing spell on four troll warriors; Jumper set an ice trap for one, Shadow Behind used Cheap Shot on another, and Twilight Glow’s Psychic Scream feared three more. Everyone used their crowd control abilities, and once Morning Breeze had finished his setup, he charged forward.
Wind Strike!
He hadn’t used the free Wind Strike earlier, but now, as he reached the troll priest, Morning Breeze unleashed a burst—Devastate first, stacking five times to shred armor and reduce the priest’s defense by 25%, making his attacks even more ferocious.
Earthen Bind!
Right as Morning Breeze exploded with his assault, the troll priest summoned two tentacles to root him in place and retreated to the top of the altar. The higher up, the gloomier it became, with poor visibility. Morning Breeze had been considering how to lure the boss up there, but it seemed the boss moved up on its own.
Shield Reflect!
The priest threw a Flame Shock at Morning Breeze, inflicting sustained fire damage, then followed with Lava Burst—the shaman’s most lethal ranged spell, and guaranteed to crit under Flame Shock. Morning Breeze dared not take the hit and reflected it with his shield.
Once the root ended, Morning Breeze intercepted and charged up, unleashing another burst. At the altar’s peak was a three-meter square, shrouded in darkness—impossible to see from outside. Morning Breeze stowed his offhand weapon and took up his main hand, drawing the orange Arcanite Axe.
Activating Reckless God Mode, Divine Descent, and the Skull War Banner, Morning Breeze launched Giant Strike—a direct critical hit. Without hesitation, he followed with Cleaving Slash!

The Arcanite Axe landed a critical, over twenty thousand damage—a level above offhand attacks. Morning Breeze kept slashing, using Berserk Fury to get more Cleaving Slash chances and continued his onslaught. Any extra rage was spent on Heroic Strike, which had its own cooldown and didn’t interfere with global cooldowns—perfect for rage dump.
Bloodlust!
After triggering a free Wind Strike, Morning Breeze swapped his main and offhand, and unleashed three Wind Strikes in a burst, each dealing over ten thousand damage. The Arcanite Axe’s immense power was ideal for bosses with weak defenses; coupled with Giant Strike’s 100% armor ignore, his burst was even greater.
Flame Guardian!
The troll priest summoned a Flame Guardian, whose explosive power was immense—a fireball took a thousand health from Morning Breeze. In normal mode, the priest didn’t have this skill, just more control and burst abilities.
Cleaving Slash!
Heroic Strike!
Morning Breeze ignored the Flame Guardian and focused on bombing the priest. The Guardian attacked from behind, dealing only 50% spell damage—Morning Breeze could tank it. If lifesteal didn’t trigger, he used Blood Strike to top up his health. If Cleaving Slash triggered lifesteal, his health instantly filled—no worries at all.
One minute passed, and under the relentless assault of the Arcanite Axe, the priest’s health dropped below 40%. The boss didn’t have much health, but wasn’t something a five-man party could quickly kill. If Morning Breeze weren’t focusing it alone, the priest would summon mobs, and they’d have to clear them—mini-mobs could be deadly if left unchecked.
Not everyone could obtain the Arcanite Axe’s overpowered burst; its high damage ignored armor, and five stacks of Devastate reduced defense by 25%, increasing lethality. After Giant Strike, for six seconds all defense was ignored, and Cleaving Slash crits over thirty thousand were common.
Bloodlust!
Wind Strike!
Morning Breeze’s luck was good—two consecutive free Wind Strikes, triggering another burst. Now, all three God Mode skills were on cooldown, making further bursts difficult. He needed to drop the boss’s health to 30% quickly to seize the opportunity.
[Temporal Traverse]: Time-space skill. You slip into the timestream, allowing instant movement within 100 meters. Each attack is guaranteed to crit, lasts 8 seconds, and allows up to five instant moves. Cooldown: 10 minutes. No cost.
Cleaving Slash!
The Flame Guardian’s explosive power forced Morning Breeze to use Temporal Traverse to dodge, while also using the skill to burst—every attack guaranteed to crit, granting five consecutive Cleaving Slash opportunities.
After using Temporal Traverse, Morning Breeze finally brought the boss’s health down to 30%. Only 25 seconds remained before the priest summoned the war beast—every second counted! He activated Last Stand to restore and boost his maximum health by 30%, then ignored everything else and went full burst.
“Don’t come up—the boss will keep summoning!” Hearing footsteps racing up, Morning Breeze shouted. Shadow Behind, who had activated Sprint to help finish off the boss, stopped in his tracks. He saw the boss’s health dropping fast and wanted to help, but upon learning the boss would summon more mobs, he returned to dealing with the mini-mobs.
Morning Breeze simply didn’t want Shadow Behind to see he had the Arcanite Axe and discover he was the Blood Dragon. As the boss’s health fell to 20%, Morning Breeze had 25 seconds left—plenty of time!

[Cleaving Slash]: Execution skill. A powerful strike dealing 350% of attack damage from all equipped melee weapons, plus an extra 5% damage for every 5 points of rage, up to 100%—this bonus does not consume rage. If the target’s health is below 30%, Cleaving Slash is guaranteed to deal 3.2x critical damage. Each crit can trigger Cleaving Slash, stacking up to three times, usable within eight seconds of a crit. No cooldown, no cost.
Morning Breeze filled his rage bar and unleashed Cleaving Slash, dealing over seventy thousand damage. Attacking enemies below 30% health always triggers a 3.2x critical—more broken than God Mode. He kept spamming Cleaving Slash, and with a 25% chance to trigger lifesteal, he healed to full every six seconds—facing the priest posed no threat at all!
