Chapter 52: New Ability - Myriad Bone Edges
Chapter 52: New Ability - Myriad Bone Blades
Swish!
Breaking a surface with a single point, the bone blade instantly pierced straight into the giant beast's back.
Rampant power surged and expanded internally, with the nearby skeletal structure bearing the brunt of the impact. It suffered an instant, comminuted fracture, while some fragile cartilage was pulverized into dust.
Following that, the surrounding muscle tissue resembled dried-up earth, cracking and rapidly shrinking outward in all directions.
The next second, it exploded outward in a mind-numbing, hyper-shocking manner!
Has anyone ever had the experience of throwing a firecracker into a cesspool when they were kids?
Or perhaps a fountain faucet suddenly blowing up.
One-third of the giant beast's back burst apart in a split second. Flesh and internal organs mixed together and shot straight up into the air, resembling someone firing a shotgun from the inside, splattering Luo Ke all over.
"Oomph—"
This blow completely shattered the giant beast. It emitted a weak, painful cry, its long legs trembling and buckling as its body gradually plummeted into the lake.
The tentacles behind it flailed weakly, attempting to slap Luo Ke off its back.
Thud! Thud!
A tentacle came, a tentacle was severed. Luo Ke completely seized the upper hand, and numerous severed limbs quickly sank to the bottom of the lake.
At the same time, he continued to drive the bone blades to ravage the interior of the giant beast, hacking it to pieces alive. Every single slash elicited a whimpering moan from the beast.
After another moment, the giant beast's tentacles were hacked to tattered bits, resembling a patch of harvested leeks, and finally hung down limply.
It made its final struggle, gazing far up toward the mountainside, its six legs trying to prop up its shattered body.
Yet, it was all in vain, because Luo Ke followed up by severing all six of its hooves entirely.
Talk about adding insult to injury!
The giant beast was self-healing, but the severe traumas it suffered were simply too numerous and overwhelming; protecting its back meant neglecting its tail, and protecting its tail meant neglecting its legs.
Bang—
Another deafening explosion rang out.
Luo Ke repeated his old trick, though this time he didn't fly too high. He simply dropped from a few hundred meters away, curling his body into a ball like a bristling porcupine, and smashed through the wound on the giant beast's back directly into its body.
Splatter—
Blue-black fluid instantly dyed the lake water thoroughly. Luo Ke punched straight through it, tunneling out from its abdomen.
The on-the-verge-of-death giant beast abandoned its struggle, collapsing onto the water's surface and falling unconscious.
Hovering by relying on gentle jet propulsion, Luo Ke came to a stop right in front of its head. "The fight with you was quite thrilling, but unfortunately, there won't be a next time."
With that, his left palm pressed onto the giant beast's deformed head. A white halo condensed, and a three-meter-long bone arrow thrust forward.
Clang!
The hard skull was split open, blasting the organs inside to pieces.
The giant beast lowered its head, its floating tentacles going completely soft and drooping down as all signs of life extinguished.
A powerful monster had just been wiped out like this. Luo Ke felt a mild sense of emotional heaviness in his eyes, a forlorn feeling of the fox mourning the death of the hare, so he sped up the Devouring Claw's consumption rate.
Once the massive creature was entirely decomposed into particles, they converged into a stream of light and poured into Luo Ke's abdominal cavity—or to be precise, the distorted black hole right at the center of the Devouring Claw.
"Refreshed!" He raised his head and praised loudly.

Evolution Value [738/2000]
Luo Ke instantly felt overwhelmingly great, deeming his long melee battle with it well worth the effort.
"Devoured an avatar of a Black Goat's Spawn. Awoken new ability—Myriad Bone Blades!"
Luo Ke was secretly startled. This guy actually really had a connection to the Black Goat's Spawn.
Speaking of the Black Goat's Spawn, it might not be the most formidable entity in the Cthulhu Mythos, but its background was by no means small.
As everyone knows, the [Blind Idiot God]—Azathoth is the big boss, and he has three strongest subordinates, known as the Outer Gods:
[The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young]—Shub-Niggurath
[The Key and the Gate]—Yog-Sothoth
[The Crawling Chaos]—Nyarlathotep
The Black Goat's Spawn were born from Shub-Niggurath, the Mother of Abominations, belonging to a superior servant race.
Digressing aside, Luo Ke first recovered his human form.
Skill Panel
Myriad Bone Blades: Explode any part of the body, causing dense, controllable, and growing bone blades to bloom from the wound. The larger the area of the exploded body part, the greater the power, quantity, length, and controllability of the bone blades, with tyrannical devouring force wandering between the blades.
Note: Please refer to the performance of the Black Goat's Spawn avatar during battle for specifics; the host possesses the ability of self-healing and regeneration, so there is no need to worry about permanently losing limbs, but do not get carried away.
Note: This ability is a group skill with extremely high damage. Please use it with caution, host.
Luo Ke raised an eyebrow, feeling that the operation method of this ability was somewhat familiar, as if he had seen it in some game before.
It sounded extremely powerful, so Luo Ke composed his mind and concentrated.
Instead of daydreaming so much, it was better to just try it out.
He extended the middle finger of his right hand.
Chanted silently: Myriad Bone Blades!
Hum!
Swish—Swish—
The fingernail of the middle finger instantly burst apart, and clusters of extremely sharp little bone spurs bloomed from the fingertip, spreading frantically like growing crystals. They expanded by about thirty centimeters before stopping, simultaneously emitting a chilling sharpness that seemed capable of piercing the skin even from a distance.
With a gentle poke at a large boulder on the shore, the boulder shattered into hundreds of pieces. The sharpness of the bone blades themselves was one thing, but the wildly chaotic wandering devouring force was the true lethal point.
Under the control of his intent, the bone blades dissipated into points of light. He flicked his palm, and his fingernail grew back anew.
This ability was suitable for use when encountering formidable enemies, perhaps capable of catching the enemy off guard, and it was also very suitable for use during tactical retreats.
The fog had yet to disperse, but the outermost areas already showed signs of receding. The military wasn't just sitting around either; they had started getting down to business.
Luo Ke looked toward the fog-shrouded mountainside, a thought stirring in his mind.
Since that was a military base, it should hold a considerable amount of heavy weaponry. It wouldn't hurt to raid the place to provide Spark City with some "scraping-damage" weapons to boost their confidence.
Of course, that was just a secondary thought.
What truly interested Luo Ke was that otherworldly portal opened by the scientists!
No sooner said than done, Luo Ke swiftly flew and swooped toward that direction.
On the outer perimeter of the military base, tanks lined the area to hold down the fort, guarded by hundreds of soldiers.
"The otherworldly portal is gradually healing. No monsters have crawled out from it for three hours now."
"I heard monsters can't survive without this fog?"
"Seems so. I wonder what the other side is actually like?"
"Why don't you go in and take a look? There might be beach bikinis you like."
"Oh fuck! What kind of nonsense are you talking about? Beauties covered in tentacles from head to toe?"
A bunch of grunts burst into loud laughter.
Suddenly, a sniper's voice sounded in the comms channel: "There seems to be something at the front gate."
As soon as these words dropped, everyone dropped their relaxed attitude and instantly entered combat mode, several squads dispersing to approach the front gate.
Despite finding nothing, they didn't doubt the sniper's words. This sniper was insanely strong and highly trusted, known within the base as "Hawkeye."
"Hawkeye, no abnormalities detected. No traces of monsters."
No reply.
"Hawkeye! Report immediately!"
Silence remained.
Several men felt a jolt of alarm and hurriedly rushed up to the observation tower a hundred meters away.
At that moment, Hawkeye was slumped inside, half-dead, while the sniper rifle beside him had been forcefully torn into two halves.
"What on earth is that thing?" Several men turned pale.
"All personnel on alert, a monster attack!"
Little did they know, Luo Ke had already quietly sneaked into the interior of the base, using Hawkeye's ID card to open the elevator door leading underground.
Naturally, he wouldn't take the elevator. What if the doors opened upon reaching the bottom to a hail of waiting bullets?
Let's keep things harmonious and peaceful; I'm just taking a tiny fraction of your weapons and supplies, no need to resort to blades and bloodshed.
Slicing open a hole, he jumped directly into the elevator shaft, entering the underground base via the maintenance level—or more accurately, the base built inside the mountain.
