Seeing that the person who had arrived was an acquaintance, Ji Boduan’s arrogance immediately returned. Pointing at Xu Ye, he shouted, “Manager Qian, what kind of establishment are you running here at Platinum Hanting?”
“You let every stray cat and dog in!”
“And now you’ve even allowed one of them to hit me. Are you saying this restaurant doesn’t want to stay open?!”
Qian Dachuan followed his finger and then said, “Well… Young Master Ji, could there be some misunderstanding between you? This gentleman is also a guest of our restaurant…”
In his previous life, Xu Ye had begun pursuing Xu Ruowei when he was sixteen. He had practically wanted to give her his very heart, treating her like a star in the heavens and pampering her endlessly.
Over time, not only everyone at Jiangzhou University but even people outside the school came to believe that Xu Ruowei was the eldest daughter of the Xu family, while Xu Ye was merely a servant in their household.
That was the fundamental reason Qian Dachuan and Ji Boduan did not recognize Xu Ye. First, they were not of a high enough standing. Second, Xu Ye himself had brought it upon himself.
“What kind of guest is he?” Ji Boduan yelled. “Do you know what this idiot’s identity is? He’s nothing more than a dog kept by the Xu family’s eldest daughter—a lowly servant from the very bottom!”
Wu Siyu chimed in, “Exactly. I can vouch for that. At most, he came here to freeload a meal. And you call him a guest?”
“Make him sell one of his kidneys and ask him whether he’d still have the nerve to spend money here!”
Xu Ye was so angry that he laughed. But just as he was about to say something, Wu Siyu suddenly seemed to spot someone. She hurriedly scurried into the distance, her face filled with indignation and grievance.
“Ruowei, you’re finally here! Look at your servant. He’s becoming more and more outrageous!”
Xu Ye followed her voice with his eyes and saw a large group of people entering through the restaurant doors. It was Xu Ruowei, along with the members of the orientation team and the student council.
The moment Xu Ruowei saw Xu Ye, the corners of her lips lifted into a smug smile.
As expected, he was still her pathetic sycophant. Hadn’t he acted so tough yesterday?
And how was he today? Just as she had predicted, the moment he saw those intimate photographs of her and Jiang Yang, he had immediately come running over in desperation.
Jiang Yang’s expression, however, darkened at once. He was deeply displeased by Xu Ye’s appearance.
He had yet to settle the score for yesterday’s beating!
“Xu Ye, what the hell are you doing here?” he demanded angrily.
“What else could he be doing? It’s obvious he regrets everything and sneaked over to beg Ruowei to take him back!” Wu Siyu said resentfully. “But you have no idea how arrogant this bastard was. I merely cursed him a few times on Ruowei’s behalf, and not only did he refuse to appreciate it, he even beat up my boyfriend, Ji Boduan.”
“Ruowei, this man has become completely lawless. You have to discipline him properly.”
“If you don’t, he’ll really think he can do whatever he wants!”
Xu Ruowei spoke with an air of lofty superiority. “Xu Ye, if you want me to forgive you, then hurry up and apologize to Siyu!”

She was convinced that Xu Ye had secretly come looking for her, hoping to beg her to take him back.
Since that was the case, he naturally had to show absolute sincerity.
An apology was only the bare minimum. There also had to be compensation—and even the punishment she had spent all day devising. Not one of those things could be omitted.
“Are you actually sick in the head? Who the hell needs your forgiveness?”
“And you want me to apologize to this idiot? Who do you think you are? And who does this idiot think she is?!”
Xu Ye was genuinely amused by his anger. Just how narcissistic was Xu Ruowei to believe Wu Siyu’s nonsense so readily?
“Xu Ye, I’ve put up with you for a long time. How dare you speak to Ruowei like that?!” Jiang Yang shouted, pointing at Xu Ye’s nose.
“Do I need you to put up with me? Haven’t you had enough of yesterday’s beating?”
Xu Ye wore an expression of utter disdain, instantly driving Jiang Yang into a furious fit.
The worst part was that he could neither beat Xu Ye nor outtalk him. He was so frustrated that he nearly spat blood on the spot.
No, he absolutely could not swallow this humiliation. He had to find someone later to teach this bastard a lesson.
Ji Boduan was even more direct. With Xu Ruowei present, he immediately intended to force the manager of Platinum Hanting to call someone over and beat Xu Ye up.
But before he could say a word, Xu Ruowei cut in first.
“Forget it, Senior. Don’t lower yourself to his level.”
There was no helping it. This was not a school—it was Platinum Hanting.
If Jiang Yang provoked Xu Ye into revealing his true identity, it would not merely be a matter of Jiang Yang being unable to afford the consequences. She herself would suffer as well.
Only she was confident that she could keep Xu Ye under control.
After all, he was a sycophant she had personally raised. Naturally, she had her own methods of managing him.
“Xu Ye, if you keep this up, I’m really going to be angry.”
“Don’t make excuses, and don’t try to argue with me. You’re not here to see me? Do you really think anyone would believe that?”
“Since you came looking for me, then honestly apologize to me. Without that sincerity, I absolutely will not forgive you.”
Xu Ye said, “Are you determined to force me to slap you so hard I knock the top of your skull clean off, just to see what exactly is inside?”
“What makes you think you’re worth me coming to see you?”
“You’re so good at telling jokes. Do your parents know?”
“Xu Ye!”
“How can you be so stubborn?”

“If you didn’t come here to see me, then what did you come here for?”
“It couldn’t possibly be a date, could it?”
Xu Ruowei folded her arms, refusing to believe a single word of Xu Ye’s “excuses.”
That afternoon, she had deliberately leaked her upcoming itinerary on the campus website. Xu Ye had then appeared here ahead of time. If he claimed he had not come specifically to see her, who would believe him?
Xu Ye had grown completely impatient. Just as he was about to tell these idiots to get lost, a clear and melodious voice suddenly rang out.
“You guessed right. He did come here for a date.”
What?!
The moment Xu Ruowei heard that, she nearly burst out laughing. But when she turned around, her entire body froze, and she could not utter another word.
The woman approaching from behind was simply too beautiful. Even Xu Ruowei herself felt an overwhelming pressure in her presence.
More importantly, there was her bearing—that innate, cool and aloof, yet incomparably noble air.
Xu Ruowei felt utterly inferior. She could no longer laugh, much less mock the other woman.
Only after a long moment did she instinctively blurt out, “You… who are you?”
“So Brother Xu Ye was right. There really is something wrong with your brain. I just said that Brother Xu Ye came here for a date. Who do you think I am?”
That was right. The woman who had arrived was Su Zijing.
At that moment, she let her full presence radiate forth. With extraordinary elegance, she walked to Xu Ye’s side, slowly raised her hand, and gently slipped it around his arm.
Xu Ye froze instantly.
“No. That’s impossible. Impossible!”
Xu Ruowei’s face was filled with disbelief.
In her heart, Xu Ye had always been her personal sycophant—one who belonged exclusively to her. How could he suddenly change his mind and fall for another woman?
It was fake. He had certainly hired someone to put on an act.
Yes, that had to be it. He had fawned over her for more than four years. How could she not know what was in his heart?
He had simply seen her being intimate with Brother Pei An yesterday and then with Senior Jiang today. He was unhappy and was deliberately trying to provoke her.
Did he think that would make her jealous?
Hah. How childish. He was overthinking everything!
