The moment Ye Qinghan heard that, her temper flared.

She strode over and kicked him.

“Are you blind? My master is right here! Are you trying to make me an unfilial disciple?”

Xu Zhanfeng’s fear seeped straight from his bones.

“N-No, no, no! I wouldn’t dare!”

“Great Lord! I am Xu Zhanfeng! That scoundrel Pei Yunxiao and I were old acquaintances. We had originally agreed to cultivate together and seek the Dao, but he ambushed me and trapped me in this secret realm!”

“Fortunately, my auntie here rescued me, allowing me to see the light of day once more!”

“I had never had the honor of seeing the Great Lord’s countenance, so I overstepped just now. I beg the Great Lord to spare my life!”

Xu Zhanfeng had no idea whether the thing between his legs was still there, yet he already felt as though he were about to piss himself.

The Fairy Ye was terrifying enough as it was. As a Body-Integration cultivator, he had no dignity at all in her presence. Before her master, he was probably less than a fart.

“It is nothing. Qinghan, deal with him as you see fit.”

“Qinghan wants to let him go. There is nowhere in Frostfall Hall to keep him, and he looks like he eats quite a lot.”

“Then let him go. As long as Qinghan is happy.”

With her master’s permission, Ye Qinghan turned her head and glared viciously at Xu Zhanfeng.

Xu Zhanfeng was no fool when it came to reading the situation. He immediately dropped to his knees and kowtowed in thanks.

“Thank you, Great Lord! Thank you, Auntie!”

Bang, bang, bang! His head struck the ground with such force that it seemed borrowed, and he spared it not the slightest mercy.

After watching him for a couple of moments, Ye Qinghan grew annoyed and sent Xu Zhanfeng away.

The scene left all the elders utterly bewildered. What exactly were they looking at?

A Body-Integration cultivator was kneeling and kowtowing before a master and disciple whose combined cultivation had not even reached the mid-stage of Foundation Establishment?

There was no doubt that Xu Zhanfeng truly possessed Body-Integration cultivation. His identity could also be verified through reliable records. If one wished, one could even discover which sect he had belonged to a thousand years ago.

Meanwhile, Shiyao secretly sought out Elder Shi Mingyi and dragged him into the woods nearby, behaving like someone arranging a clandestine meeting.

“Shiyao, what is it that you have to be so mysterious about?”

Though Shi Mingyi wore an expression of disdain, Shiyao was like his own child. She was the Sacred Mountain’s sole Holy Maiden.

Although no one was truly convinced—most people felt that making a fool like her the Holy Maiden was absurd—the Holy Maiden had not been chosen by the Sacred Mountain. She had been chosen by Heaven.

No matter how dissatisfied they were, they could only endure it. Even if Li Shiyao was a fool, she was still the unquestionable Holy Maiden.

All they could do was dote on her.

“Elder Shi, the immortal-tier cultivation manual is actually with me.”

Shiyao’s expression and movements made it seem as though she were about to take a steamed bun from her bag. Instead, she pulled out the immortal-tier cultivation manual.

At that moment, Elder Shi Mingyi seemed to have turned into a stone elder. For more than a full minute, he did not move at all.

“How did you get it?”

“Sister Qinghan didn’t want it, so she gave it to me.”

“What?”

Shi Mingyi was completely numb with shock. It had been that simple?

“It’s true, Elder Shi. Sister Qinghan gave it to me. Before we left, she also gave me some rare treasures and told me not to mention any of it to anyone.”

Shiyao looked utterly innocent, as though she were describing the companions who had played with her in the courtyard earlier. Her eyes were filled with anticipation for the next time they could play together.

“She was right to tell you that. But why would she give something so precious to you?”

“Because Sister Qinghan is very good to me!”

Shi Mingyi froze.

The two of you had only met for the first time before entering the secret realm, and she was already good to you?

Still, this immortal-tier cultivation manual really was proof that she was very good to her.

Shi Mingyi could not understand the feelings of young women, but everything that existed had its reason. He did not understand it, but he could accept it.

“Then why didn’t you secretly take it back and cultivate? Why tell me now?”

Shiyao tucked the immortal-tier cultivation manual back into her satchel and spoke in a small voice.

“I want Elder Shi to help Sister Qinghan.”

“Help her? Did you make some sort of deal with her?”

Shi Mingyi could not believe that anyone would give away an immortal-tier cultivation manual for nothing. Anyone who cultivated such a manual step by step was destined to become an immortal.

For something so precious, what had Shiyao offered Ye Qinghan in exchange?

“It wasn’t a deal. Sister Qinghan is very good to me, and she gave me such a precious manual. I want to help her.”

“You mean Ye Qinghan asked for nothing and simply gave you the manual? You want to help her of your own accord?”

Seeing that Elder Shi finally understood, Shiyao nodded furiously. She could not help thinking that he was terribly stupid.

She had made herself perfectly clear. Was this really so difficult to understand?

“How do you want me to help her?”

“Shiyao doesn’t know. But please help her, Elder Shi! You’re the best to me! Please?”

Li Shiyao was not a child. With her figure and features, even compared with Ye Qinghan, one could only say that each woman possessed her own unique charm. It was impossible to say that either was more beautiful.

Li Shiyao naturally had the face of a mature married woman. When she began to act coquettishly, the contrast created a peculiar allure—one no man could resist.

“I understand. But Shiyao, remember this: until we return to the Sacred Mountain, you must not let anyone else know about it.”

“All right. Sister Qinghan already warned me. I’ll remember!”

Shi Mingyi then returned, while several elders whispered among themselves about Xu Zhanfeng’s presence.

With considerable interest, Shi Mingyi studied Ye Qinghan for a while. He could never understand why she had refused an immortal-tier cultivation manual and given it to Shiyao instead.

There was nothing strange about Shiyao wanting him to help her. Her mind was simple, and whenever someone showed her kindness, she treated that person like her greatest benefactor.

And since Ye Qinghan had given her an immortal-tier cultivation manual, she was probably already the greatest good person in the world in Shiyao’s eyes.

But why had Ye Qinghan done it?

What could she possibly need his help with? That woman had even managed to tame Xu Zhanfeng. Did she really need his assistance?

Could it be that the rumors were true—that she did not wish to remain at Su Cheng’s side?

That seemed to be the only possibility. But was this truly something he could help with?

He would observe for now. Although he had promised Shiyao that he would help, as a member of the Sacred Mountain, he still had to maintain a proper sense of proportion.

As for Su Cheng, he had begun to dispense justice.

“Qinghan, I hear these cultivators saying that you robbed them of their rare treasures. Is that true?”

Su Cheng showed no sign of anger whatsoever. In truth, he did not particularly care.

“Qinghan would never hide anything from her master. It is true.”

Ye Qinghan glared at the group of cultivators. The killing intent in her beautiful eyes was practically spilling through the screen.

In an instant, her oppressive aura spread across the area. Even Su Cheng could feel it.

The cultivators were so frightened that they retreated several more steps. Some turned and ran, while others wet themselves right where they stood.

“Qinghan, you are allowed to waylay people and rob them, but they are not allowed to report you? Kneel down first and listen while your master explains.”

Even if Ye Qinghan had been utterly lawless inside the secret realm, when facing her master, kneeling was simply what she ought to do. There was nothing shameful about it.

“As for the rest of you, do not leave yet. Once I have disciplined my Qinghan, I will naturally see justice done on your behalf.”

Su Cheng smiled brightly, displaying the open and guileless air of an upright, kindhearted man.

The notorious Ye Qinghan was now kneeling at Su Cheng’s feet, having apparently accepted her punishment. It was a scene of perfect satisfaction for everyone involved.

Su Cheng was radiant, not the slightest trace of anger on his face. He merely murmured,

“Qinghan, do you know what you did wrong?”
