“When did they make up?”
“Just a couple of days ago. I heard Su Yi went to the company and pleaded several times. I told you, they would reconcile sooner or later—who could withstand Su Yi’s persistence?”
Lin Lu snorted, “Su Yi actually begs?”
“Who would’ve thought? But it’s only for Xu Yancheng. No matter how proud she is, she’s always obedient in front of him.”
“Is it true that men all like obedient women?”
“It depends, but most do. After all, nobody likes a woman who’s always contrary. But there are exceptions—some people just like that sort.”
They were chatting merrily when Xu Mingchuan approached.
“Lin Lu, it really is you? They told me they saw you but I didn’t believe it.” He dismounted and walked over.
“Last time you said you didn’t feel well and left early. I thought you didn’t like horseback riding, so I didn’t invite you this time.”
“I’m not very fond of riding, and my skills aren’t great. Today I just came on a whim to see what was happening, didn’t expect to run into you all.” Lin Lu casually made up an excuse.
Xu Mingchuan didn’t doubt her at all.

Xu Yancheng and Su Yi circled round and round, passing by the tea pavilion again and again.
Yet he never once glanced at Lin Lu.

Lin Lu grew impatient. She sent Xu Yancheng a message, “Hurry up, I have things to do later.”
As expected, her message vanished into the void.
Xu Yancheng was too busy cozying up to Su Yi to check his phone.
After another half hour, Lin Lu decided not to wait any longer. She got up to leave.

Just then, Xu Yancheng messaged her.
“Come to the restroom.”
“Which restroom?”
“The one from last time.”
Lin Lu hurried over.

When she realized Xu Yancheng hadn’t arrived yet, a wave of irritation at being toyed with rose within her.
She called him directly, not caring whether Su Yi would notice.
Xu Yancheng answered quickly.

Lin Lu said, “You have three minutes. If you don’t show up, I’m leaving.”
He replied languidly, with a hint of indifference and disdain, “What’s the rush?”
“I told you, I have things to do.”
“What could you possibly have to do? Meeting a man at a hotel? Are you that desperate?”
Lin Lu took a deep breath, “Yes, I’m desperate, so please hurry up, Young Master Xu.”
He hung up.

Soon after, Xu Yancheng appeared at the door.
Lin Lu fixed her gaze on him. “Start deleting.”
Xu Yancheng took out his phone and, right in front of her, deleted the photos from the album, then went through the ones stored in the cloud and erased them one by one.

“All gone.”
“I don’t believe you. Give me your phone and let me check.”
Xu Yancheng chuckled, “Lin Lu, don’t flatter yourself. Who would bother keeping videos of you?”
“Really? It’s not as if I forced you to film them in the first place.”
“That was then. Back then, I was a bit interested, just fooling around. Now, I’m tired of you—just seeing you makes me sick, let alone the videos. Watching them only makes me want to vomit.”
“Young Master Xu, if you want a clean break, you’d better show some sincerity. I don’t trust someone as unreliable as you.” Lin Lu folded her arms across her chest, adopting a negotiator’s stance.

Xu Yancheng was much taller than her. From his angle, with Lin Lu’s arms crossed, her neckline was somewhat exposed.
“Is this how you usually seduce men?” Xu Yancheng glanced at her.
Lin Lu was caught off guard.
“With your neckline so low, always trying to show off your curves. Why not just take off your clothes?”
Lin Lu sneered, “Since you’re sick of me, why bother about such things?”
“It’s just an eyesore.”
That snowy expanse—he remembered its shape and feel vividly.

“If it bothers you so much, hand over your phone and let me check. Let’s get this over with and never meet again.”
