Chapter 101: Wait for Me to Kill

Seeing Gu Sha seething with righteous indignation, the assembled elders exchanged uncertain glances.

The chief elder hurriedly interjected, “Calm down, calm down, Gu Sha, don’t get too worked up. Right now, humanity faces an existential crisis—it’s not the time for internal strife!”

Gu Sha rubbed his nose and muttered, “True, the whole of humanity should stand united against external threats—nothing wrong with that. But there’s a prerequisite: everyone involved should at least be human, right?”

The elders: “…”

There was simply no way to respond to that.

Relations between Long Continent and Oni Island Continent had always been tense, with animosity stretching back centuries, if not millennia. Even up to thirty years ago, despite the Federation government’s constant efforts to mediate, Oni Island Continent never ceased its provocations, stirring up trouble for Long Continent at every turn. Especially galling was Oni Island’s habit of playing lapdog to Rice Continent, emboldened by their patron, always plotting against Long Continent and seizing every opportunity to strike a blow.

In Gu Sha’s two decades of memories, humanity worldwide was constantly preparing for disaster, with Long Continent in particular adhering to a principle of mutual assistance, frequently offering aid to impoverished regions. Yet Oni Island Continent was nothing but a nuisance, smearing Long Continent’s name and manufacturing trouble, even amidst the apocalypse.

Whenever Long Continent faced hardship, Oni Island not only withheld support but actively mocked them, obstructed aid from other continents, and even lured powerful zombie beasts to attack Long Continent multiple times.

Yet when doom finally threatened Oni Island Continent itself—rising sea levels about to submerge their entire region—they shamelessly turned to Long Continent for help. Citing proximity, they insisted Long Continent had a duty to save them, to give up land for their relocation, and to provide for their reconstruction, resorting to every form of moral blackmail: if Long Continent refused, they were betraying humanity.

It became a massive scandal, but as for how it played out in the end, Gu Sha had no idea—by then, he had already been reborn.

Now, just hearing that Oni Island Continent was up to its old tricks again made Gu Sha’s blood boil. In his previous life, lacking the strength to do anything but seethe at that tiny, troublesome land, he could only fume in frustration.

But now, with Oni Island Continent still daring to act out, he was determined to make sure their days of ease came to an end.

Without delay, the elders explained the details to Gu Sha.

Initially, Oni Island Continent was openly defiant toward the “First Sequence” account, their comments dripping with sarcasm and contempt. This time, with Gu Sha venturing into the alternate dimension and returning successfully with news, it was as if he had delivered a stinging slap to their faces.

Yet Long Continent didn’t make too much of Oni Island’s barking. Instead, they announced to the Federation the invasion of the Primordial Realm and the existence of many life-bearing star systems in the universe, proposing a world summit. Their intention was to warn all continents about the threat of the alternate dimension and to share the advanced technological concepts Gu Sha had brought back.

However, goodwill from Long Continent didn’t mean everyone would appreciate it.

Oni Island Continent proved the perfect example.

They publicly declared that Long Continent’s motives were far from noble. Ignoring all objections, they began their own exploration of a spatial anomaly that had appeared on Oni Island.

Unexpectedly, their exploration yielded results—they brought back a large quantity of origin stones and claimed that the alternate dimension was perfectly safe, vast, and uninhabited by zombies or beasts; it was simply an untamed land, ripe for joint development, and they invited all continents to participate.

Immediately thereafter, Oni Island began denouncing Long Continent, insisting Long Continent had already exploited the alternate dimension and, in disregard for humanity’s safety, fabricated stories of the Primordial Realm and cosmic crisis to scare everyone else away from developing it.

Suddenly, Long Continent found itself in a highly awkward position. Their act of goodwill not only failed to arouse concern, but backfired, plunging them into a storm of public opinion.

However, the upper echelons of Long Continent’s government harbored no doubts about the truth. Gu Sha and Wild Blade had brought back not just words, but ample video evidence proving the existence of the zombie race.

Still, within the current Federation government, opinions were sharply divided. Many believed Long Continent, but plenty suspected the videos were fabricated as well.

In sum, both Long Continent and Gu Sha—the so-called First Sequence—were now embroiled in fierce controversy.

“This time, the world summit has been temporarily canceled,” the chief elder said. “The Federation has decided that all continents with the means should send teams to Oni Island Continent to join the development of the alternate dimension. After discussion, our various Long Continent strongholds have decided to participate. Now, would you be available to lead the delegation? It would be your first global public appearance as the First Sequence. Of course, if you don’t feel like going, that’s fine too.”

“Go? Of course I’ll go.” Gu Sha’s face broke into an innocent, harmless smile.

Yet, watching him, the elders couldn’t help but feel a chill run down their spines. In their hearts, they silently mourned for Oni Island Continent.

After chatting a while longer, Gu Sha took his leave and returned to his quarters.

Back in his room, Gu Sha opened his phone and logged onto the global forum.

Unsurprisingly, the forum was in utter chaos—countless posts slandering and abusing Long Continent, and everywhere, conspiracy theories and ridicule targeting Gu Sha, the First Sequence.

As he scrolled through, a message popped up from Wild Blade: “Damn, Boss, you’re finally online. I’ve got a global chat group here—want to check it out? It’s infuriating! Those Oni Island dogs are provoking you!”

Gu Sha replied, “Send me a few screenshots?”

Wild Blade promptly sent several.

The main culprits were two users, “Demon Blade” and “Nine Chrysanthemums,” both of whom were flooding the forums with posts claiming the First Sequence was a fabrication by Long Continent. Even if Gu Sha existed, they insisted, he was a useless fraud—a mere ploy by Long Continent to catch up to Oni Island. They were stirring up every group, challenging Gu Sha to join the exploration team, vowing to expose him as a sham before the world.

Gu Sha looked at the screenshots, his heart utterly unmoved, except for a flicker of puzzlement. He messaged Wild Blade, “Does Long Continent really need to catch up to Oni Island?”

Wild Blade replied, “That’s always been their delusion, and the worst part is, even within Long Continent, plenty of people believe it…”

Gu Sha: “Unbelievable.”

Wild Blade: “There’s always someone who thinks the grass is greener on the other side.”

After a moment’s thought, Gu Sha said, “Make a list of everyone who’s publicly challenged me.”

Wild Blade: “Boss, what are you planning?”

Gu Sha: “Nothing much. Just want to remind them to get their necks nice and clean and wait for me on Oni Island—so I can kill them all.”
