Every member of the Dragon Continent delegation remained silent. Not one of them spoke as they piloted their aircraft and fled at full speed.

The shockwaves were simply too powerful, and the area destroyed was far too vast.

There had never been only one nuclear warhead inside the D City fortress.

Although Gu Sha had detonated just one, the explosion of a single nuclear warhead could trigger the others. In an instant, the entire city of D was overturned by a chain of earth-shattering blasts, reduced to ashes beneath a storm of fire.

After a long while, Mad Blade was the first to speak within the Dragon Continent delegation. Clutching his radio, he stammered nervously, “B-Boss... this... this...”

Gu Sha answered bluntly, “I did it. I triggered the detonation physically. Those people from Demon Island Continent thought that taking the nuclear warheads away would solve everything. In reality, I covered the warheads with a special energy. Put simply, the condition for detonating a nuclear weapon is merely the collision of energy. It’s very simple.”

The radios inside several fighter jets were connected in group-chat mode, so everyone heard Gu Sha’s words.

No one said anything.

What concerned them was not how Gu Sha had detonated the nuclear weapons. They wanted to confirm the suspicion in their hearts: had Gu Sha truly been the one who set them off?

Gu Sha did not hide anything. He admitted it simply and directly.

For a time, no one spoke again.

After flying for a while longer, Gu Sha was the first to break the silence.

“I’m going to Mount Dashi to investigate the dimensional rift there. Does anyone want to come? But let me make this clear first: there’s danger inside, and I’m not entirely confident I can handle it.”

The group fell silent. No one answered.

“In that case, I’ll go alone.”

Gu Sha glanced at the two people in the same aircraft.

The two men were quick to understand. They immediately contacted another fighter jet, transferred to it in midair, and left.

After giving Gu Sha a few reminders about piloting a fighter, the original pilot also departed.

Gu Sha then turned his fighter around and sped away alone.

Inside one of the aircraft, Mad Blade sat by the window, watching Gu Sha disappear into the distance. He was utterly silent.

A Transcendent asked in confusion, “Brother Blade, you worship the God of Slaughter so much. Why didn’t you go with him? Knowing you, I don’t believe you’d think there was anything the God of Slaughter couldn’t handle.”

The moment the question was asked, everyone became curious.

After remaining silent for a long time, Mad Blade said, “It’s true that I worship him. In my heart, he is a god!”

Mad Blade sighed before continuing. “But when he admitted just now that he was the one who detonated the nuclear warheads, I finally understood that I had been wrong all along. He is a god, and I am merely human. All I can do is look up to him from afar, yet I kept foolishly imagining that I could walk beside a god. How ridiculous.”

Everyone fell silent.

Mad Blade gave an awkward little laugh. “If a god is truly destined to be born on Earth, it can only be him. He possesses everything a god should have: power, coldness, fearlessness, and... complete disregard for all restraint. Mortals should simply play the part of mortals. They may worship, revere, disdain, or despise him—but they must never fantasize about walking beside a god.”

With that, Mad Blade gripped the great blade in his hand and looked toward the senior members of the delegation.

“Write me an application. When we return to the Dragon Continent, I want to be transferred to the front line. I will carry out... the duty of a human being!”

Naturally, Gu Sha, who was piloting his fighter toward Mount Dashi, had no idea that his number-two devotee had awakened to something extraordinary.

If Gu Sha knew of Mad Blade’s realization, he would probably give him an approving nod and say:

“Today, you have attained enlightenment in a single moment. Now you are the true god!”

Mount Dashi lay on the border of Demon Island Continent.

It was one of the regions farthest from D City, and thus had not been greatly affected by the explosion there.

Still, Demon Island Continent was not very large. No matter how distant Mount Dashi was, it was impossible to avoid the shockwaves of such a terrifying nuclear blast completely.

When Gu Sha arrived at Mount Dashi, he saw from afar that the mountain had erupted, and traces of an earthquake were visible as well.

Gu Sha paid little attention to it.

After circling in the air several times, he located the base that the government of Demon Island Continent had built near Mount Dashi. Then he opened fire.

Dozens of shells stored inside the fighter were launched in rapid succession.

“Boom! Boom! Boom!”

Amid a series of violent explosions, the troops stationed at the base began to fight back. Fighter jets rushed into the sky, while the base’s missile systems locked onto Gu Sha’s aircraft.

Gu Sha simply hurled his Tang blade.

It tore through the air at terrifying speed, friction setting it ablaze. By the time it descended into the base, it resembled a meteor plunging from beyond the heavens.

“Boom!”

The Tang blade forced the missile back down, causing it to explode inside the base.

Gu Sha quickly landed the fighter, then shot into the sky. He punched and kicked the enemy aircraft, downing every one of them without expending much effort. He then summoned the Tang blade back into his hand and descended into the base from above, embarking on a massacre.

In less than half an hour, the entire base had been annihilated amid thunderous explosions.

Dragging the Tang blade behind him, Gu Sha fought his way into the laboratory that, according to his memories, contained the gateway to the micro-world.

There, he witnessed a scene that even made his heart tremble.

The laboratory was filled with experimental equipment—transparent containers brimming with liquid. There were hundreds of them. Inside each one was a Transcendent.

Some had tubes of every kind inserted throughout their bodies as blood was drawn from them. Others had had their internal organs removed while still alive. Somehow, by means unknown, they continued to live.

A word instantly surfaced in Gu Sha’s mind:

“Human experimentation.”

He had not seen this scene in the future vision. But he understood why. In the future he had witnessed, he had come there according to Demon Island Continent’s arrangements. Naturally, Demon Island Continent had erased all traces of these human experiments.

“Hmph!”

Gu Sha snorted coldly.

So many years had passed, yet Demon Island Continent still refused to change. Whenever it had the chance, it continued carrying out such atrocities.

Those captured for the experiments came from every continent. Quite a few of them were people from the Dragon Continent.

When they saw Gu Sha enter, their eyes filled with expectation.

One of them had been implanted with all kinds of organs taken from savage beasts. Inside the transparent container, he kept opening and closing his mouth, but no sound came out.

Even so, Gu Sha could tell from his lip movements what he was saying.

Kill me!

Gu Sha walked to the container and said in a deep voice, “Do you want me to grant you a quick death?”

The man’s eyes filled with desperate hope. He nodded with all his remaining strength.

Gu Sha then turned toward the others around him—those who could neither live nor die.

Their eyes, too, were filled with longing.

Expressionless, Gu Sha slowly raised his hand.

“Snap.”

He snapped his fingers.

A vast surge of runic energy erupted.

“Boom! Boom!”

Every piece of equipment in the laboratory exploded. The stench of various foul liquids spread through the air.

“Th-Thank you...”

“Ah...”

“...”

All kinds of voices rang out. Many of those who did not die immediately used their final breaths to thank Gu Sha.

Soon, the voices faded away.

“To be unable to live and unable to die... Death has actually become the greatest luxury.” Gu Sha shook his head slightly and sighed. “It seems I’ll have to drop a few more nuclear warheads.”

Gu Sha did not linger.

Following his memories, he made his way to a sealed chamber.

Inside was the gateway to the micro-world.

However, Gu Sha did not enter at once. Instead, he activated his ability to foresee the future.
