Chapter 113: Wings of the Dimension
The others had no objections, for Ge Qian’s plan was already the most perfect. Along the way, everyone had already begun to regard Ge Qian as their leader.
After finalizing the plan, they each returned to their rooms to rest.
The next day, everyone was full of vigor. They purchased a large quantity of various elixirs, then left the city. After confirming their direction, they soared through the sky on their flying swords.
Beyond Sanlong City, a thousand miles away, there were no signs of habitation. The land was desolate; even the few towns they encountered were dilapidated and weathered severely.
Mountains, marshes, and plains were swiftly left behind.
Yingxue’s beautiful eyes were wide with wonder, overwhelmed by the novelty of everything around her.
Ahead loomed towering peaks that pierced the clouds. Passing through this mountain range and flying over Luolin Sea, they would reach the Red Fiend Desert.
Ge Qian rode on a top-tier spiritual flying sword, leading the way. His powerful divine sense easily detected dangers, allowing them to avoid pitfalls in advance.
Suddenly, he halted and said, "Fellow cultivators, what is the meaning of this ambush? Do you intend to kill and seize treasures?"
No sooner had he spoken than sinister howls echoed through the sky. Eight formidable auras surged upward as several figures flashed forward to block Ge Qian and his companions.
Their attire varied, brimming with murderous intent. It was obvious they were a band of rogue cultivators who specialized in killing and plundering.
At the forefront stood a burly man with a massive black mole on his face. A late Foundation Establishment stage cultivator, broad-shouldered and towering, he smirked coldly as he stroked the tuft of hair on his mole.
"Kid, you’re pretty sharp to have discovered our ambush ahead of time. But with so many of us, you won’t escape. Hand over your storage bags and call us ‘grandfathers’ three times, and maybe we’ll show mercy. Otherwise, my Third Brother excels at soul extraction!"
This group was a notorious local gang, known for robbery and murder. They killed men, toyed with women until bored, stripped them of their spiritual power, and sold them to brothels—spreading infamy wherever they went. They called themselves the Eight Immortals of Luolin Sea.
Before he finished speaking, a mid-Foundation Establishment cultivator, his body radiating an eerie chill, let out a strange laughter. "Such a delicious bunch. Why bother talking? Let me have a go at them."
Ge Qian smiled slightly, remaining calm. Using secret transmission, he spoke to Bai Ruyu and Yingxue, "Yingxue, you and Ye Feng protect Ye Yu. No matter how the battle unfolds, do not intervene. Bai Ruyu, when I strike, be ready to deal a fatal blow."
After the transmission, he addressed the six with a calm voice, "Fellow cultivators, is what you say true? If I surrender my storage bags, will you really spare us?"
The burly man replied, "Ask around how trustworthy I, Wang Ke, am. We only take treasures, not lives. It depends on how obedient you are."
"To give you?" Ge Qian scoffed and flicked his hand, unleashing eight blazing fire python talismans.
Eight fiery snakes, each twenty zhang long, surged forth with scorching heat, claws bared, lunging at the eight men with incredible speed.
Wang Ke’s face turned pale in shock. He immediately summoned a top-tier spiritual energy shield that shimmered with light, placing it before him. "Seeking death?"
The others scrambled, each unleashing their own divine arts to fend off the fire pythons.
Ge Qian was relentless. To capture a thief, capture the leader first; to shoot a man, shoot his horse first. He formed hand seals and cast "Twisting Paths," striking the shield.
Just as Wang Ke was about to draw a spiritual weapon to kill Ge Qian, his shield mysteriously shifted to one side. In an instant, a fire python coiled around him, emitting a piercing scream before turning to ashes.
Ge Qian seized Wang Ke’s storage bag. As Wang Ke's primordial spirit and fortune tried to flee, a crack appeared on Ge Qian’s brow. A thread of spirit energy shot out, piercing Wang Ke’s primordial spirit, drawing it back into his consciousness. A monstrous mouth opened and devoured the spirit and fortune in one gulp.
Everything happened in a flash. Before the others could react, Wang Ke had died beneath the fire python talisman. Ge Qian’s absorption of the primordial spirit was even faster, invisible to the rest.
Having dealt with Wang Ke, Ge Qian focused his mind and unleashed eighty-one sword lights, slashing like a violent storm at the soul-extracting cultivator who had claimed to be the Third Brother.
The soul-extracting cultivator wielded a ghostly weapon resembling a seven-foot bull’s head. With a wave, countless spirits swarmed forth to attack the sword lights.
The "Ten Kings of Hell" sword lights surged forward eagerly, instantly devouring the spirits, then piercing the bull’s head weapon, consuming them ravenously.
The remaining sword lights swirled around the cultivator, cutting him into pieces before he could utter a scream, blood splattering everywhere.
Suddenly, a golden light flickered behind Ge Qian, revealing a massive phantom standing ten zhang tall with three heads and six arms, as mighty as a mountain. Its body was covered with fist-sized scales inscribed with runes, crackling with lightning.
The central head was identical to Ge Qian’s; the other two were mere outlines without features. From its back spread six-colored thunderous wings. After advancing to mid-stage, Ge Qian, the King of Six Paths, had evolved a pair of six-colored wings called the "Dimensional Wings." Faster than teleportation, these wings could traverse past and future, the King’s ultimate divine ability. But now, they were only in their infancy, requiring much time to mature.
With a flap of the "Dimensional Wings," the phantom appeared before a plump mid-Foundation Establishment cultivator. Six enormous fists rotated, smashing through the air.
The fat cultivator was terrified, his soul scattering as he turned to flee. Suddenly, immense force gripped him as if trapped in quicksand, then he was smashed into a pulp.
Behind Bai Ruyu appeared a gigantic ice phoenix phantom. It opened its beak, releasing a chilling breath that froze a thin, withered cultivator into a lifelike ice sculpture, still posed as before freezing. The sculpture then shattered upon hitting the ground.
Bai Ruyu swung her Ice Mechanism Sword fiercely. A giant phoenix claw tore through the air, grasping a gray-faced early Foundation Establishment cultivator and crushing him instantly.
In almost a single strike, five cultivators were dispatched. The remaining three, legs trembling, realized they had met their match. They mounted their flying swords and fled in three directions.
Ge Qian said coldly, "The three of you just leaving like that? Will you not give me an explanation?"
With a thought, the King of Six Paths' "Dimensional Wings" fluttered, and he vanished. The next moment, he appeared behind one fleeing cultivator. Six arms swung, grabbing his limbs and head. One hand snatched his storage bag. Then, with a powerful outward force, the man was torn into five pieces and flung into the air.
The "Dimensional Wings" flickered again, disappearing and reappearing behind another escapee. Six giant fists pounded relentlessly, reducing the cultivator to minced meat.
The last cultivator, hearing two screams and feeling a sudden heat, wet his pants and screamed, "Help! Help!"
At that moment, two black dots rapidly approached from afar.
Ge Qian’s divine sense locked onto the approaching figures. He then used "Substitution," a secret technique. The fleeing cultivator sped forward, but the scenery abruptly changed, as though by fate, and he found himself before Ge Qian again. In disbelief, he let out a terrified scream before fainting and plummeting from several dozen zhangs high, shattering to death upon impact.
The sword lights returned to Ge Qian’s dantian. The King of Six Paths quickly shrank and vanished into his body.
Yingxue and Ye Feng remained on high alert, prepared for battle. They hadn’t expected Ge Qian to dispatch six opponents in a few swift moves, with Bai Ruyu killing two more. The difference in skill and combat experience was clear; they knew they couldn’t catch up if they ran.
This was the true measure of strength.
