Chapter 152 I Feel Ashamed For You
It felt as though the whole affair had yet to truly conclude. Only a few days later, an uninvited guest appeared at the office. Not long ago, Hua Mei had stormed into the company over Zeng Ziyu’s infidelity, nearly coming to blows with Nina. This time, the visitor was still looking for Nina, but the protagonist of the crisis had changed to Zeng Ziyu himself.
When Zeng Ziyu showed up, Xiaoxiao was in the meeting room with Cai Yirou, reviewing the points to keep in mind for their next appointment. Hearing a commotion outside that sounded entirely too familiar, Xiaoxiao asked Cai Yirou to wait a moment and hurried out to take a look.
Zeng Ziyu was searching frantically everywhere, going from desk to desk to ask colleagues if anyone had seen Nina. He looked like a man who had lost his mind, completely akin to a headless fly crashing blindly in all directions.
"Alright, cut it out," Xiaoxiao said, unable to watch any longer. She pulled Zeng Ziyu aside. All the colleagues had dropped what they were doing and were watching them with great, undisguised interest.
Zeng Ziyu looked as though he had just spotted a savior. He eagerly asked, "It's so good I found you. Do you know where Nina is? I just went to the PR department, but I couldn't find her anywhere."
Disgusted by his state, Xiaoxiao felt angry at his lack of spine. "Take a look at yourself. You might not feel any shame, but I'm embarrassed for you. Nina isn't here, so get out of here right now!"
Despite her clear dismissal, Zeng Ziyu didn't budge an inch. He remained rooted to the spot, glancing around as if he believed Nina was hiding in some corner watching the show and was determined to drag her out.
Xiaoxiao truly couldn't bear to look at him. Zeng Ziyu, who had always approached everything with a carefree grin, was now completely out of his mind and utterly shattered over a woman. If the old patriarch of the Zeng family were to see him like this, he would surely break the legs of this disgraceful and unfilial son.
"Xiaoxiao, stop playing games with me, alright? Where is Nina? Just tell me!" Zeng Ziyu practically begged her. Xiaoxiao didn't even want to speak to him and turned to walk away. But right then, Manager Huang heard the noise and emerged from his office. The young secretary immediately hurried over to brief him on what had happened. As Manager Huang walked toward Zeng Ziyu, his expression shifted rapidly through a series of appropriate emotions, clearly finding the situation rather difficult to handle.
Manager Huang greeted him with a smiling face, "Mr. Zeng, long time no see."
"Manager Huang, it's great that you're here. Is Nina really not in the company?"
Manager Huang had always fancied himself a shrewd operator. He instantly grasped Zeng Ziyu's intention and promptly instructed his secretary to call Nina and tell her to return. Turning back to Zeng Ziyu, he adopted a troubled expression. "I am terribly sorry, Mr. Zeng, but Nina happened to go out today to discuss a sponsorship deal with a client. However, it's no trouble at all—I can have someone fetch her back. It's just..." Manager Huang hesitated, dragging out his words. "It's just that if we do that, that particular deal might fall through. The PR department is like that, living at the mercy of the elements. When the heavens bless us with a meal, we don't starve, but if I call her back now, I'm afraid there won't be any profit left to speak of."
