Du Fang was perfectly at ease.

Eyes closed, he felt the air streaming around him, dragging his body forward as he raced through the sky.

The sensation of flying freely was exhilarating!

Since ancient times, humans had never been able to fly unaided by tools. Unlike birds, they had no wings, and for mankind, taking flight was harder than ascending to heaven.

Yet flying had always been one of humanity’s oldest dreams and longings. To truly achieve it was to broaden one’s horizons completely, to open up an entirely new world.

Du Fang had never imagined that he would actually be able to fly.

After gaining the basic ability to control air from Luo Luo, he had always confined himself to manipulating the air around him. It had never occurred to him that he could apply that control to his own body and transform it into another ability.

For example, flight.

As long as he controlled the currents of air around him and had them propel his body, would that not allow him to fly?

Du Fang had only come up with this idea after seeing Li Ang and his wife rise into the air.

Before that, he truly had not thought of it.

As for why Du Fang had deliberately inserted himself between Li Ang and his wife, it was because he wanted to experience the essence of flight possessed by two national-level Dream Traversers.

Their method of flying was entirely different from his own.

Du Fang flew by controlling the air and manipulating the currents around him.

Li Ang and his wife, however, relied completely on their immense Dream Spirit energy. By releasing Dream Spirit around their bodies and forming rings of circulation, they severed the force imposed upon the human body by heaven and earth—the force known as gravity.

Those circulating currents, however, were something Du Fang could learn from.

The simplest way to rank the strength of Dream Traversers was by the intensity of their Dream Spirit.

The amount of Dream Spirit a person possessed determined their strength.

But quantity was not the only factor. The quality of one’s Dream Spirit also played a decisive role.

With the same amount of Dream Spirit, some Dream Traversers possessed energy that was more stable and resilient, while others had Dream Spirit that was loose and scattered, dispersing at the slightest impact.

Take Zhao Lingyin, for example. She possessed an infinite quantity of Dream Spirit, but the quality of it could not compare with that of Li Ang and his wife. Thus, she remained only at the City-Crossing level and could not rely solely on her Dream Spirit to achieve flight.

Du Fang’s own Dream Spirit was insufficient, but with the Dream Spirit of Luo Luo, his sister-in-law, Little Pig Qiqi, and the Wife’s Hand added together, there was more than enough to let him fly.

Even so, Du Fang did not need it. His control over the air alone was enough to lift him into the sky.

What he needed to learn from Li Ang and his wife was their control over Dream Spirit, so that he could achieve the most stable form of flight.

In truth, by the time they had flown out of the Dream Ferry Building, Du Fang had already grasped the essence of flying.

He could now fly quite steadily.

Zhao Lingyin, meanwhile, hooked her long legs around the Fire God Spear. With the spear’s assistance, an endless stream of Dream Spirit flowed into her and carried her through the air.

She was not particularly fast, but she managed to keep close behind them.

“He’s gone!”

Suddenly, Li Ang’s brows drew together.

The gray mist in his pupils churned ceaselessly, yet no matter how he searched, he could not locate the White Jade Priest.

The four of them plunged from the sky.

They landed at the spot where the White Jade Priest had weathered away and vanished.

An eerie silence enveloped the surroundings. The rustling of the trees in the breeze was startlingly clear.

Du Fang was still savoring the sensation of flying.

Beside him, however, Li Ang, his wife, and Zhao Lingyin had all grown grim and vigilant.

Li Ang in particular maintained those eyes of gray mist. The mist within his pupils rolled violently, restless and agitated.

It was as though he had seen some terrifying existence. Beads of sweat the size of beans rolled continuously down his forehead.

“Aunt Jingxiang, what’s wrong with Uncle Li Ang?”

Zhao Lingyin gripped the Fire God Spear as she asked.

“He’s trying to lock onto the location of that priest from the Divine Core organization, but... he must have sensed something terrifying. I’ve only encountered this kind of reaction once before.”

Jingxiang was usually gentle and serene, but now even her voice carried an incomparable gravity.

“As national-level Dream Traversers, we once took part in a rescue operation overseas.”

“It was a Dream Calamity that covered an entire nation. It was not an ordinary Nation-Destroying level calamity. If it had to be rated, it would belong to the highest and most terrifying category within the Nation-Destroying level.”

“When Ang was investigating the strongest Abomination within that calamity, his condition was almost exactly like this. In fact... he was not even as tense as he is now.”

Jingxiang spoke.

Zhao Lingyin’s brows knitted tightly. “The strongest Abomination of the Nation-Destroying level should still only be at the Nation-Destroying level, shouldn’t it?”

“No!”

Jingxiang shook her head. She took out a hair tie and gathered up her loose hair. As she bound it, the aura surrounding her underwent a earth-shaking transformation.

“The strongest Abomination at the pinnacle of the Nation-Destroying level... is comparable to the ceiling of humanity among Dream Traversers!”

Her voice was heavy beyond measure.

From Li Ang’s state alone, she had already drawn such a conclusion.

The understanding between this husband and wife was clearly beyond that of ordinary couples.

“Lingyin! Take Du Fang and retreat immediately. Return to Jiangling City!”

“Tell President Tang Nai to activate Jiangling City’s defensive plan!”

“My husband must not have detected that priest from the Divine Core organization. He must have detected the mobile Nation-Destroying-level Dream Calamity outside Jiangling City!”

“That Sky Demon Dragon King was right. Outside Jiangling City... there really is a mobile Nation-Destroying-level Dream Calamity!”

“Hidden, mobile, undetectable by machines...”

“This Dream Calamity is extraordinary. According to the data, calamities of this kind have always appeared overseas. I never imagined that one would now emerge within our own country!”

Jingxiang finished tying up her hair and abruptly lowered both hands.

The next moment, she opened her eyes.

Her gentle, tranquil gaze vanished in an instant, replaced by a violent, fierce, and savage aura. It was as if a sweet and tender wife had transformed into a brutal, towering warrior.

Her body visibly grew larger as well.

The petite, delicate woman who had originally stood only a little over five feet tall suddenly shot up to more than ten feet, becoming a hulking female giant.

“My man! Wake up!”

The terrifying Dream Spirit within Jingxiang erupted into ring after ring of energy. She stamped one foot down, and the ground instantly cracked into a dense web of square-shaped fissures.

She turned her head toward Li Ang, who was still sweating profusely, and let out a furious roar.

It sounded like the legendary roar of a lioness.

The gale from her shout blew Li Ang’s hair into disarray.

The violently surging gray mist in his pupils instantly calmed.

Li Ang’s spirit returned to him. He staggered backward several steps, panting heavily.

Then a large hand descended and lifted him up.

Jingxiang, powerful enough to uproot a willow tree with one hand, placed Li Ang on her shoulder.

Only then did Li Ang fully recover his senses.

“Wife!”

“In this state, call me your woman!”

The towering Jingxiang spoke in a deep, muffled voice.

“My woman!”

“My man!”

“My woman!”

“My man!”

...

Du Fang came back to himself and stared blankly at the visually overwhelming scene before him.

Zhao Lingyin also felt as though her soul had suffered a severe shock. Her mouth hung open, and she did not know what to say.

So this was what Li Ang and his wife looked like when they fought.

It was the first time Zhao Lingyin had ever seen it.

Aunt Jingxiang was such a gentle person, yet she had been hiding such a wild side within her all along!

It was truly something else.

Sitting on Jingxiang’s shoulder like a pampered young wife, Li Ang had now returned to normal as well.

The gray mist in his eyes had once again become calm and tranquil.

“Jiangling City’s situation... is rather serious.”

“Just now, I sensed an incomparably terrifying Dream Calamity fluctuation. It was at the Nation-Destroying level... and perhaps even beyond.”

“If my judgment is correct, this Dream Calamity resembles those now rampant overseas. This new type of mobile calamity is temporarily known as an Invasion-Type Dream Calamity.”

Seated on the shoulder of the towering Jingxiang, Li Ang looked at Du Fang and Zhao Lingyin.

“An Invasion-Type Dream Calamity?”

Du Fang was startled.

He truly had never heard of such a thing.

He only knew that Dream Calamities were divided into the Abomination level, City-Annihilating level, Nation-Destroying level, and the even more terrifying Unsolvable level.

Zhao Lingyin stood beside Du Fang, gripping the Fire God Spear. A solemn glint flashed through her eyes.

“An Invasion-Type Dream Calamity? Uncle Li Ang, are you certain?”

“To date, no Invasion-Type Dream Calamity has ever appeared in our country, has there?”

Du Fang looked at Zhao Lingyin in surprise. “You actually know about Invasion-Type Dream Calamities?”

Zhao Lingyin immediately lifted her chin in defiance. “Of course I do. I’m the number-one genius in the capital!”

“Of course, I only happened to see it on my master’s desk.”

“Invasion-Type Dream Calamities have already destroyed quite a few small nations. After negotiations among the Dream Traverser associations of various major powers, the headquarters of the World Dream Traverser Association established this definition for the calamity.”

“Nowadays, Invasion-Type Dream Calamities are also classified as Forbidden-Domain Dream Calamities.”

Zhao Lingyin spoke.

Forbidden-Domain Dream Calamity?

Du Fang’s brows furrowed.

Another new concept.

“Explain it in detail,” Du Fang said.

Zhao Lingyin froze. She pressed her long legs together and scratched the back of her head awkwardly.

“Well, it’s... it’s that...”

“Uncle Li Ang, you explain it to Du Fang.”

Zhao Lingyin hurriedly turned to Li Ang.

However, before Li Ang could speak, the towering Jingxiang furrowed her thick brows and shouted sternly:

“Enemy!”

“Beneath us!”

Boom!

The ground, already fractured from the towering Jingxiang’s stomp, suddenly exploded. It split apart in all directions as wave after wave of heat surged upward from the depths of the earth.

Roar!

A low growl seemed to rise from deep within the earth, vast and thunderous, constantly reverberating through the land.

Along with it came a terrifying pressure of Dream Spirit.

Du Fang, Zhao Lingyin, and Li Ang’s wife all rose into the air.

The earth shattered in an instant, as though an abyss had emerged. Lava boiled up from within its depths.

The four of them stared down.

Their gazes fell upon the abyss where the lava flowed.

Upon that river of molten rock stood a humanoid dragon figure, slowly lifting its head.

Its hideous head was covered in dragon scales, crowned with dragon horns, and adorned with drifting whiskers.

Two dark-golden eyes fixed themselves upon the four figures floating in the air.
