Chapter 133: I Once Fought a Nation-Destroying Villain and Survived
The White Jade Priest passed away peacefully, leaving the world without a burden. A powerhouse at the National-Collapse level, a figure capable of making the entire Great Xia nation stand on high alert, had died silently on a road in Jiangling City.
Everyone stared blankly at the deceased White Jade Priest.
High in the sky, the little girl holding the pig doll was gone. Only Du Fang remained. Yet, though she had vanished, her presence, her deeds, and her smile still lingered in the air, leaving one with an endless sense of wonder.
Li Ang covered his eyes, two lines of bloody tears flowing from his Gray Mist Eyes. He had nearly lost his sight just from probing that little girl earlier. A Fallen God? If she truly were a Fallen God, wouldn't she be far too powerful?
Beside him, the robust Jingxiang let out a long sigh of relief. It was over. It seemed that aside from Zhang Changlin getting beaten up, everyone was fine. That was good. As for how Du Fang had dealt with the White Jade Priest, she did not care in the slightest.
"The God Core Organization... they seem to have miscalculated Du Fang's strength. The powerhouses they sent twice now seem to have been nothing more than fodder."
Jingxiang’s massive frame began to shrink, and the surging blood energy gradually dissipated. She was no longer violent or overbearing, returning to her gentle and quiet self.
Li Ang closed his eyes and nodded. "It’s not the God Core Organization's fault. Their intelligence failure didn't have much to do with them. After all, no one could believe that two Fallen Gods could coexist within a single person's body!"
He, for one, still found it hard to believe.
The group descended onto the road, looking at Du Fang with strange expressions. Even Li Ang and his wife, both National-level Dream Weavers, became much more cautious.
"Du Fang, is your body alright? Can you handle it?" Li Ang asked.
Du Fang looked puzzled. "I’m fine. Better than ever, in fact."
Li Ang paused. Having consumed a small God Core and still harboring two Fallen Gods inside him, Du Fang was still jumping around like this? This kid was far too bizarre. Perhaps after returning to the capital, he would have to report to the Grand President, Ye Zong, and describe the strangeness of this young man in detail.
To slay a National-Collapse level powerhouse with the strength of an Upper-level Dream Weaver was an unprecedented feat. Even Ye Zong, in his younger days, could not have achieved this. Between an Upper-level Dream Weaver and a National-Collapse level entity lay the massive gap of the City-Extinction level!
The crisis had dissolved into nothingness.
On the road, Jiangling City Dream Weaver Association President Tang Nai let out a long sigh of relief. It was finally over; the disaster that had shrouded Jiangling City had finally dispersed.
Li Ang’s couple walked over with Du Fang. Zhao Lingyin began to bounce around again; with her infinite dream energy, her recovery speed was astonishing. Her charred hands were already beginning to peel, revealing fresh, tender skin. She looked at Du Fang with intense focus. Gazing at his flawless, handsome face, a bold thought couldn't help but rise in her heart.
*Such a good-looking boy—if I punched him, he’d probably cry for a long time, right?* Zhao Lingyin thought. But she immediately felt discouraged, realizing she couldn't beat Du Fang. The one who would end up crying from a beating would be her.
She couldn't beat him before, and she certainly couldn't now. Du Fang had just wiped out the National-Collapse level White Jade Priest! Was he even human? Even though most of Zhao Lingyin’s intelligence had been traded for her legs, she knew she had nearly been killed by the Priest. Since Du Fang had dispatched someone who could dispatch her, was there any point in challenging him? She wasn't stupid.
"Du Fang, you win. For the time being, I won't challenge you again," Zhao Lingyin said, gripping her Fire God Spear and pursing her lips sadly. It was truly difficult for someone as proud as her to admit defeat, but she really couldn't beat him.
Du Fang, having just swallowed a small God Core and a "firework," was in a very good mood. However, upon hearing Zhao Lingyin’s words, his expression changed drastically.
"You're not going to compete anymore? We were evenly matched! You really had a chance to win!" Du Fang tried to salvage the situation. He felt as if he could hear the sound of banknotes being shredded, and along with them, his own heart.
"No, don't comfort me. I'm strong. Your strength is obvious to all. I can't beat you, but I won't give up on winning. There’s still time before the Rookie Dream Weaver Invitational and the National Champion Finals," Zhao Lingyin said earnestly. "I will go through insane special training during this time, and I will challenge you fairly in the battle for the championship!"
Du Fang opened his mouth. *Don't do that. We can keep competing.* But Zhao Lingyin was resolute. What else could Du Fang say? The bitterness of this, perhaps, was something only he could understand.
"Right, let's head into the city and see what the actual situation is," President Tang Nai said. Although they had received word that the crisis within the city seemed to have been resolved, they still dared not let their guard down. Tang Nai ordered patrols around the outskirts of Jiangling, and the group headed quickly toward the city center by car.
They didn't go to the Dream Weaver Building, but headed straight for Du Fang's residential complex. The Seventh Priest’s true form had gone there and ended up being killed. They had to go and check.
Of course, there was another important matter: the traitor from the God Core Organization. The one who had caused the Seventh Priest to act personally could not be left out in the open. According to the Priest's words, this traitor also possessed a small God Core. That made her a ticking time bomb—extremely dangerous!
They soon arrived at the complex. It was already cordoned off with caution tape. Chen Xi, the assistant, Si Nan, Su Jiuming, and others had gathered there, having been ordered to support the area. Unfortunately, by the time they arrived, the battle was already over. Lin Liuli was being guarded, sitting quietly in the complex, unable to move a step.
"Captain, you got beaten up again?" Su Jiuming, dressed in a flashy pink suit under his black Dream Weaver trench coat, had sharp eyes and spotted Zhang Changlin, who was bruised and covered in blood, amidst the crowd.
Zhang Changlin’s hand, holding a cigarette, trembled. *Why are you shouting so loudly? Is this the first time I've been beaten? Why are you acting so surprised?* He wanted to cover Su Jiuming’s mouth.
Around them, the other Dream Weavers turned their gazes toward Zhang Changlin. Zhang Changlin had no choice but to force a smile and nonchalantly shake the ash off his cigarette.
"I gave my all to hold off a National-Collapse level threat. What’s a few injuries?" Zhang Changlin said calmly. "I have fought against a National-Collapse level criminal and survived."
The surrounding Dream Weavers, unaware of the truth, gasped in shock. *Holding off a National-Collapse level threat alone?! How is Captain Zhang getting stronger and stronger? From City-Extinction level before to National-Collapse level now... Captain Zhang is truly improving steadily!*
Zhang Changlin felt bitter inside, but he couldn't be bothered to explain it to the others.
Du Fang stepped out of the car and walked into the sealed complex with Li Ang’s couple and President Tang Nai. Inside, Lin Liuli sat quietly on the ground, her eyes unfocused, as if she hadn't yet come back to her senses.
As everyone entered, their eyes fell upon the corpse of the White Jade Priest. Unlike the clone that had been erased by Luoluo, this true form was in a much more miserable state. The white robes were already soaked in blood, and there wasn't a single intact part of the body.
Li Ang struggled to open his eyes. He couldn't use his Gray Mist Eyes for the time being, but it didn't affect his sight. Looking at the corpse, he gasped. *The Fallen God that killed this true form... clearly, they are no pushover!*
He worried whether Du Fang would be influenced. A Dream Weaver who awakens a Fallen God is easily influenced in their mind, leading to crazy actions or even defecting from the Association. Li Ang felt a sense of concern and realized he would have to re-evaluate how to handle Du Fang moving forward.
Du Fang also returned to the complex. The first thing he needed to do was find the whereabouts of his "sister-in-law." What was she doing after killing the White Jade Priest? Her tracks were not hard to find. While the others couldn't see her, Du Fang could see her clearly.
She was currently wearing a pure, innocent smile, squatting cheek-to-cheek in front of the paralyzed Lin Liuli. Her icy breath seemed to be blowing against Lin Liuli’s pale face.
Lin Liuli, who had been sitting on the ground, broke out in a cold sweat. She slowly looked up, her gaze instantly landing on Du Fang. Her eyes fluctuated uncontrollably, as if she had seen a savior—like a drowning person grabbing onto a floating leaf.
"Du Fang..." Lin Liuli murmured, her cracked lips parted. "Save me."
