Thoughts Upon Publication

Tonight at midnight, the book will be launched, accompanying the chime of the New Year. It’s time for us to begin a new chapter.

I must say, after all these years of writing, this is my first time launching a book on New Year's Eve—there’s something truly amusing about it.

This time, the launch is through the Sanjiang channel. However, from what I can see now, the results may not be as promising as I’d hoped, since Sanjiang’s effect has been rather poor.

But that’s alright. After all, I’ve already had a few books sink into obscurity—my mindset is calm.

All of last year was quite rough for me as an author. I hope that with this new book’s release, I can make a fresh and auspicious start.

Additionally, I want to thank Thomas Sui Feng and Lu Qiuqiu, two generous supporters, for their alliance leader rewards. When I was feeling anxious and uncertain, your support was a real boost. Unfortunately, I don’t have any chapters in reserve, so I can’t post extra updates to thank you right now.

Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support. Thank you to all the familiar faces who have stuck with me, reading every chapter. This new book will unfold slowly, and I’ll do my best to make it witty and entertaining. I, Old Li, will strive to present you with an engaging story.

From the launch of “The Gourmet” in 2016 to now, 2022, six years have flown by.

I, Old Li, have gone from being a young student to becoming a father.

But some things never change—

Tonight at midnight, I’ll start working hard—there should be at least four guaranteed chapters, though given my current lack of reserves, it won’t be easy.
