Chapter 65: The Black Dragon Returns, Another Daughter Joins
The journey went smoothly, and they returned to their own neighborhood.
It was nearly three in the morning. Within the residential complex, the night-shift security guards were preparing to turn in for some rest. Gazing at the entrance to Cloudspring Gardens, he slowly drove in, familiar with every turn.
Once home, Hua Tian woke her father. The two spent two hours unloading the twenty tons of dog and cat food, dismantling the doghouse their mother had built with little regard for delicacy.
They repurposed the materials from the old doghouse into a storage shed, placing all the food they had brought inside. Directly across was the Four Hundred Million Dog Kennel.
A glance at the clock showed it was past four in the morning. A couple of early-rising kittens watched them from inside the glass tunnel, and more and more hungry pets gazed at the pair.
The expert and the professor each swiftly tore open a bag, carrying them into the center of the kennel. The larger dogs, cats, and the white wolf who hadn’t fallen asleep caught the scent of food and woke the nearby puppies.
Those roused still retained the habits of the countryside, glaring fiercely around, but seeing their companions dash past to eat and catching the familiar scent of cooked meat, they quickly joined in.
Yet, at the sound of two barks behind them, the dogs and cats surrounding the food immediately made way, allowing their elders to eat first.
Father Tian watched this scene and sighed, "I thought I’d never see Old Black and Old Yellow together again in this life!"
"Oh? Now that you have, it’s time to sleep. If you don’t, you’d better beware of Mom, the tigress!" Hua Tian replied mercilessly.
The two made their way to the door and slipped into their respective rooms to sleep.
Before seven the next morning, ten large trucks were parked at the entrance of Cloudspring Gardens.
Soon, there was a knock on Hua Tian’s door.
Mother Tian, who had gotten up, glanced at her husband, who showed no signs of waking.
"Another all-nighter... Coming! Stop knocking, I’m coming!"
Opening the door, she found dozens of people in uniforms from the Pet Center. Each stood about 1.8 meters tall, sturdy young men all wearing black gloves.
"Hello, I’m a deliveryman from the Pet Center. Yesterday, you purchased the perpetual delivery service and unlimited pet food. Today is our first delivery. I apologize for disturbing your morning and ask for your understanding."
"Oh, it’s fine. You’re here to deliver the food. What do I need to do?"
"Nothing at all, just watch from here. We’ll handle the moving ourselves. Since it’s the first time, I wasn’t sure how much you’d need for a month, so we brought a hundred tons. Would you mind checking?"
"A hundred tons? Alright! I’ll go wake up my husband—he knows more than I do!"
Upstairs, she dragged Father Tian down. At first, he looked utterly defeated, but at the mention of the Pet Center, he immediately perked up.
"A hundred tons a month? That’s plenty, plenty. If each eats thirty kilograms a day, that’s about right!"
Father Tian quickly joined in to help, unloading the hundred tons of meat and vegetarian pet food, finishing only by two in the afternoon. During this time, their son woke up and bought a feast for fifteen people, which none of the workers refused.
After the meal, Hua Tian went to help, and they managed to finish before two.
Father Tian taught the puppies how to eat the food by themselves.
The kennel was good, but food storage was a challenge—it was designed for shelter and safety, not for cramming in a hundred tons of food.
Afterwards, Mother Tian drove Father Tian off to bed.
Hua Tian crawled into the kennel alone, cleaning and organizing. When he emerged, a hundred pets lay comfortably on the grass, wagging their tails and basking in the sun. After exchanging a few words with his mother and carefully locking the yard gate, he drove back to Water City University.
Arriving at the university, he met five people.
Both Han Qianyun and Han Qianyu were present.
"You came back just in time. Tomorrow is the last day. Let’s use the Starlite Stones to upgrade our skills!"
"Hua Tian, you haven’t logged into the game for three days. Get familiar with your skills tomorrow, and the day after, let’s win the championship together!"
She spoke with the pair of siblings behind Xiaoyu, and the three of them went out for dinner.
Only three people and one dragon remained in the room.
Han Qianyu watched the three escapees and wanted to join them, but Xiaoyu said, "Why don’t you and your sister eat together? We’re too poor—we might ruin your appetite."
Seeing that there was no way she would be allowed to follow, Han Qianyu watched them go, tears of regret welling up at the thought of missing a free meal.
After slamming the door, she bounced over to meet her sister.
Upon seeing the terrifying creature, the younger sister cried out, "Sister, behind you! Run!"
Befuddled and frightened, Han Qianyu watched the little black dragon slowly open its jaws and glide toward her.
"Hua Jie, don’t scare her!" Han Qianyun, seeing her sister’s pale face, quickly intervened.
The little black dragon flew back in a huff—this was its food-bringer. Without her, there would be no delicious meat, water, or stones.
The sisters talked at length.
Only then did Han Qianyu understand why, in the game, her sister paid little attention to her pets.
If she were in the same position, she’d do the same—raising them meant she could see them in real life, unlike the game, where their true forms were hidden from view.
She then climbed up to experience the joy of flight first-hand, delighted beyond words.
Poor Zhuyun and the neglected Yeyu—a snake and an elf—were quietly abandoned by their two mistresses.
Seeing her dazed sister, Han Qianyun added, "Don’t let anyone know about this black dragon, understood?"
Lying on the dragon’s back, Han Qianyu nodded vigorously at her sister.
