Chapter One Hundred and Six: Utterly Invisible

Lin Yang was almost certainly attracted to Bai Yiyue’s body. He held himself in high regard, believing that because he had reached the Foundation Establishment stage outside, he could look down on everyone here. Yet, no matter how strong his cultivation was outside, within this place he was still only at the peak of Qi Refinement. Behind him, Lin He, though temporarily aligned with him in secret, remained someone to be constantly wary of.
Lin He seemed to notice Yu Dao Yi’s gaze and discreetly nodded to Lin Yang with a smile, which made Yu Dao Yi increasingly suspect that the man might be interested in him instead.
As time passed, the temperature in this relatively large space rose drastically, far beyond what an ordinary mortal could endure. The scorching beasts beneath the magma grew excited with the rising heat, roaring continuously.
“The magma level is steadily rising,” came a clear voice, easily heard by everyone.
Yu Dao Yi felt as though the voice was deliberately lowered, but even so, it sounded very familiar to him. Although he couldn’t immediately recall where he had heard it before.
Turning his head, he saw a small corner by the cliff’s edge where a figure in white, masked, stood. Though not as curvaceous as Bai Yiyue, she was taller and more imposing, holding a white long sword that gave her a heroic and spirited appearance.
Yu Dao Yi recognized her—a woman who had discovered the unique charm hidden in him, a woman of discernment.
In any case, she had glanced at him several times, clearly knowing him, and he was certain he had seen her somewhere before—and quite well.
Upon hearing this, everyone looked down toward the cliff’s base. Indeed, the underground magma had risen several meters compared to before and was visibly continuing to climb.
“If this drags on, the difficulty will only increase. We must finish quickly!” the woman in white with the sword said decisively.
No sooner had she spoken than Yan Yan began to circulate his cultivation technique, and as the surrounding temperature rose, his body started to glow red and burn hot. Flames flickered faintly from his hands and feet.
“I want to see what this underground magma can do to me!” Yan Yan shouted with a laugh, gripping the jagged rock face of the cliff and jumping down step by step.
“Really rushing straight to his death...” Yu Dao Yi watched the scene speechlessly.
Even a fool could tell this trial was not to be taken at face value. The scorching beasts beneath the magma alone were formidable, and no one knew how many more were hidden below, yet to surface.
“Don’t underestimate him. Nobody who gets this far is a fool. At least Yan Yan must have a backup plan,” said a handsome young man beside Yu Dao Yi, seemingly overhearing his muttering.
Before the words even faded, agonized cries for help echoed from below the cliff.
“Help! Is anyone there? Someone’s dying!!!”

Everyone turned sharply toward the unfamiliar man.
“...” He simply turned his head away and said, “Forget I said anything.”
“So who’s this idiot?” Yu Dao Yi muttered, nudging Yu Yunfan quietly.
“He’s Xuan Xin from the Xuan Jing Sect of the Tianxuan Realm, Qi Refinement stage nine,” Yu Yunfan said slightly disdainfully, glancing at his brother. “No one who reaches this point is simple, but Xuan Xin isn’t the one we should be most concerned about.”
“What do you mean?”
“There’s another,” Yu Yunfan said softly, shifting his gaze toward a certain direction.
“What the—where did this guy come from?” Yu Dao Yi followed his gaze and was startled to see a figure crouching in a shadowed corner, previously unnoticed.
Long, unbound hair fell messily over his shoulders, revealing only a pair of dark eyes staring ahead. His tattered gray-black robe blended perfectly into the shadows.
His disheveled hair concealed his face, making it impossible to see his features. He gave off no aura whatsoever. Rather than a cultivator, he looked more like a scavenger.
“Unknown origin, unknown name, unknown cultivation, and hasn’t spoken a word—but he was the first to appear here.”
“In other words, he’s the first to pass the first trial among us, even faster than Bai Yiyue and me. Perhaps due to his cultivation technique, his presence is extremely low—so low that even I was shocked when I discovered him.”
“In my perception, this person emits no danger, but precisely because of that, he’s even more dangerous.”
Yu Yunfan spoke gravely, watching his brother’s expression closely to gauge his thoughts.
“Hm... that must be hard to bear. Too bad, someone as radiant as your brother can’t understand his sadness and pain,” Yu Dao Yi said with a frown, sighing regretfully.
“Brother, is this the time to talk about this?” Even the usually calm and silent Yu Yunfan couldn’t tolerate his brother’s constant self-absorption.
“Ah, I just wanted to vent some anger. Too bad your brother can’t figure out how to fly over the cliff.”
Just then, a figure resembling a roasted person crawled up from a corner of the cliff. It was a pitiful sight—his hair completely burned off, leaving him bald, eyebrows gone too. His once magnificent red robe was reduced to a mere shred, and his body was charred black.

“May I ask who this brother is? You look unfamiliar,” Yu Dao Yi said expressionlessly, trying hard not to laugh, his tone teasing yet curious.
...Really, at a time like this! Still joking around! Yu Yunfan was thoroughly exasperated.
“I’m your uncle!” Yan Yan, hot-tempered as ever, snapped sharply at the hostile tone opposite him.
“Uncle, you’ve lost all your hair down there too,” Yu Dao Yi couldn’t hold back a chuckle.
Feeling the strange gazes around him, Yan Yan glanced down, blushing fiercely. Fortunately, the surrounding rocks glowed red-hot from the magma, bathing the space in a crimson hue, so it wasn’t too obvious.
Bai Yiyue glanced over casually, covering her masked face with her sleeve. Her voluptuous body trembled slightly as if she couldn’t quite control herself.
Yu Yunfan looked at his brother, still laughing heartily, and wished to hide his face and pretend he didn’t know him. Yet under the circumstances, he had to watch Yan Yan carefully, wary of his sudden outbursts.
Yan Yan said nothing further. He tore the last strip of his red robe and tied it around his waist to cover himself.
Then, glaring angrily at Yu Dao Yi, he refrained from attacking. After all, if they quarreled over such matters, the only one losing face would be himself. Still, a grudge had been formed.
“Sorry, sorry, I just couldn’t hold back. So, what happened to you to end up like this?” Yu Dao Yi forced himself to calm down and ignored Yan Yan’s hostile glare as he asked.
“Why should I tell you!” Yan Yan snapped angrily.
“Because you’re stuck here now. If you share some information, we might come up with a way out and avoid dying together,” Yu Dao Yi shrugged, unfazed by the tone.
“Hmph, mortals are just mortals!” Lin Yang sneered, then produced a piece of translucent blue stone from somewhere.
The stone radiated a faint white chill, and as it appeared, the surrounding temperature suddenly dropped sharply.
